Mostly a great meal with some room for improvement. We were seated immediately and a very personable server named Danielle waited on us; she continued to be helpful and attentive throughout the meal.
Disappointed that they did not have the daily blue crab special available on Monday at 7 pm.
I ordered a crab cake starter and the catfish basket which came with fries. My companion chose the 2 choice dinner of snow crab legs and calamari which included potatoes and one corn and added a side order of coleslaw. For dessert, I ordered the cheesecake and my companion ordered the key lime pie which we both shared. My meal was $26 without tip while my companion's meal was $31 without tip.
The server promptly appeared with my starter; a bucket containing two forks, 2 towelettes, and a bibb for my companion but no knives.
The crab cake was served on a paper plate along with a tasteless creamy aoili sauce which I doctored by adding Louisiana hot sauce to suit my taste. While I was still eating my appetizer, the entrées arrived at our table.
My companion was very happy with her meal as was I. The food was piping hot and my fries were the best fries I have ever tasted in a restaurant and seasoned perfectly. The coleslaw was tasteless and needle better seasoning.
Our desserts were portioned perfectly and truly decadent. The key line pie was the best I have ever tasted! Yummy!
Conclusion: the meal would have rated 5 stars if it had:
Waited to serve the entrées until appetizer had been eaten.
Served knives and used dinner plates instead of paper plates. At the price we paid for the meal, it is the least anyone should expect in a seafood restaurant.
Serve coffee, please! Whoever heard of a restaurant that doesn't offer coffee? What an egregious disappointment that we couldn't enjoy our fabulous dessert while sipping on a hot cup of coffee. Next time, I'll bring my own!
Will I go back? Not sure as I'm not a fan of eating on paper plates and neither was my companion. Having said that, I would go back for the dessert but bring...
Read moreWe've ordered from them probably at least 10 times. The last time was a couple months ago and we said we would never do it again. We gave it another chance and it was terrible the proportion was ridiculous $120 for one king crab leg, they said they gave me a half pound of shrimp and there was only nine shrimp, got a pound of lobster... and it was soggy, and we also got a half pound of sausage and we counted the pieces there was 14 pieces so probably a quarter pound... we bought potatoes and corn on the cob. My bill came to $250. I would not have gave them $100 how can you charge somebody $120 for one king crab leg. Honestly will never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever buy from them again and I recommend that nobody else buys from them they are taking advantage of people. The food wasn't good quality and definitely the portion size was a half of what it should if been.
Very disappointed we get food from there during football season and and other events. We spend a lot more than that but this time for $250 it should have been about half the price we was looking forward to the king crab leg and we got one piece and it was small it was a joke don't order from this place because we did takeout we should have took it back and told him to keep it they need it more than us. So disappointed...
Read moreI was a very loyal customer from Day 1 and literally visited this place more than a little for a person that could hardly afford it. The Manager Heidi has been nothing but rude on many occasions first off I never heard of any place as such that doesn't have happy hour how greedy also she is stingy when you complain about how your crabs have no meat in them she seems to get offended yet never apologize or reason with you. On one visit I came in with a friend that had some complaints mind you I didn't have the complaint my friend did, Well when Ms Heidi the Manager came over she instantly insulted me thinking I was the one complaining and went on to say "You complain every time you come here" I was like no I don't how rude. Moving forward, Just yesterday we visited again which will be my LAST VISIT we asked for extra sauce on our seafood boil again she was rude and stated it would be an extra fee yet she noticed there was hardly any on there she very stingy and rude so I will be sure to take my hard working money and services elsewhere. I didn't even want to leave 1 star but you I had to leave something in order to begin my complaint. TBH FIND ANOTHER PLACE THAT WILL APPRECIATE YOU BECAUSE CUSTOMERS ARE...
