I came to Greek City and ordered two separate meals during the same visit one for myself and one for my mom. Unfortunately, the experience was frustrating and not what we expected. My order was a chicken pita platter with a side of feta fries. The fries were really good, but the chicken in the pita was so chewy that I couldn’t eat it. Every bite had to be spit out, which was really disappointing. For my mom’s order, we tried to customize it with a chicken pita and a side of potato salad. While trying to figure out the best pricing option, the staff member (Autum) sent the order to the kitchen before I even finished speaking. When I asked about the price difference, she seemed annoyed. Another worker, a Black woman, told me she was ringing it up the cheaper way but it actually came out more expensive ($16.57 vs. $16.35). It may just be a few cents, but it felt misleading. Things got worse when they told me I hadn’t paid even though I showed them my bank statement. The woman didn’t believe me until I spoke with a higher-up, who thankfully confirmed I had paid and said I was good to go. I appreciated her for clearing that up. Overall, I waited about 25–30 minutes, and it seemed like they were backed up. Still, the chewy chicken, price confusion, and customer service issues made this a disappointing experience. The feta fries were the only part we enjoyed. I understand that the team puts time into making the food, and I respect that but we didn’t even get to enjoy our meals, which is really...
Read moreWith COVID, our business has been swamped which means late nights at the lab and a lot of ordering out. I have ordered numerous times from Greek City Cafe during this hectic time and they have CONSISTENTLY delivered delicious, fresh, and flavorful food. I am a very picky eater and easily get grossed out if the food is not fresh, but its almost like Greek City picks the fruit and vegetables from their garden before putting them on my plate.
I never feel compelled to call a business up and let them know when they are doing a good job. This is the first time I did and that means something.
My favorites are the strawberry and walnut salad (delicious), the greek salad, and the gyro. My father is Pakistani and flavor is SUPER important to him. He was blown away by the rustic chicken sandwich. As south asians we like to douse our food in hot sauce, spices, curries etc, but Greek City has allowed us to appreciate the simplicity of food without sacrificing flavor.
Keep doing the great work, Greek City! We love to support our fellow local businesses and you guys are...
Read moreFirst time we tried Greek City Cafe but was looking forward based on the reviews. Today we did take out.
My guy ordered his go-to gyro and loved it. The gyro meat was tasty but not salty. The vegetables were fresh and plentiful as was the meat. French fries were good even when reheated in the skillet.
My Greek salad looked wonderful with iceberg and spring greens as well as chickpeas, chopped tomatoes, red onion, feta cheese and the Florida Greek salad staple, potato salad. Sadly the lettuce was past it's prime; wilted and soggy. The dressing was watery and tasteless. I'm certain if it was fresh it would have been delicious too. I took two pictures of the salad. The one in the bowl is shown with anchovies from home. The second in the to-go box after I had plated my salad. If only it had been fresh, this review would be five stars.
The pita and tzatziki were good too.
