8 MONTHS AGO I CAME TO THIS RESTAURANT BECAUSE THEY MESSED UP THE ORDER MISERABLY. SO TODAY MAY 12TH 2024 ON MOTHER'S DAY I GO IN THERE FOR THE SAME PASTRAMI SANDWICHES. I ASKED FOR SPICY BROWN MUSTARD I DID NOT GET IT, KIDS TALKING OVER YOUR FOOD WITH NO HEARING AIDS AND NOT PAYING ATTENTION. WHAT IS GOING ON THERE !!!! DOES THIS COMPANY NOT TAKE CARE OF PEOPLE OR EVEN CARE ABOUT TRAINING THEIR EMPLOYEES TO DO THINGS RIGHT AND PAY ATTENTION? THOUGHT I WOULD BE NICE AND GIVE THIS PLACE A SECOND CHANCE BUT HEY CAN'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON A COMPANY THAT DOESN'T PAY ATTENTION !!!! WAKE UP !!!!!!?!

I always get my pastrami sandwiches here but yesterday September 1st 2023 at around 8:35 p.m. it was a disgrace. The girl never asked me if I wanted my sandwich toasted but it came out that way. I'm from New York and I've never had a toasted pastrami sandwich. So when I told them that I didn't want it toasted, they all kept quiet and made a new sandwich but this time with hardly any meat and all thrown together. Maybe if the young staff paid attention and cease joking while preparing customers food, they would have gotten the sandwich right the first time. I want the owners to know how things go down when it's closing time, in case they're not aware. My review is actually about my experience last week. I went into the shop about 45min before they closed. I was told by the girl at the register that I could order, but the sandwiches would all be cold. I was very confused, so I asked why and her response was that "the machines aren't working properly". So I ordered my sandwich, because really, you can't be upset at something that's not their fault, machines break down... But then, I see the girl walk up to the toaster/press and she takes a wet towel and begins to wipe it clean, as I see the steam coming off of the machine, I was so annoyed/mad that I just took the cold ass sandwich and left. The machines were obviously fine and they just wanted to start cleaning before the actual close time. When in reality, there should be production until the close time listed, then the cleaning can start once you lock the doors. And I really like Firehouse, which is why I was so mad. The sandwiches there are pricier but the quality of them is worth it. That cold Hook n Ladder with hard bread and cold cheese did not taste the same cold as it does warm/toasted. Good sandwich, terrible staff. When I asked the cashier for a recommendation on what was good because I didn’t know what to get, she shrugged, rolled her eyes and said “whatever you want”. The general attitude by the employee was that my mere presence and requesting a sandwich was an inconvenience and annoyance to her. I’m not sure of her name, as nobody was wearing uniforms with nametags but she was wearing some type of (metal band?) T-shirt and had facial piercings. The name on the receipt was Brooke but who knows? It’s somewhat irrelevant though because the (manager?) was standing right next to her making a sandwich and looked at her funny during this encounter but did not say anything either to the employee or to myself, so apparently not even management cares for the customers at this location.
