It had been months since I had my last haircut and I wanted to try a different barbershop since I had not been happy with the barber I would usually went to so when my coworker told me about Men’s Dept. I knew that I had to get in ASAP. I called in around 2pm this past Friday to see if they had any availability on Sunday which they did at the exact time (Noon) I wanted as well. When I arrived for my haircut I was blown away by this shop as soon as I stepped in the door. Denise was at the front desk and got me checked in immediately, she also asked if I would like a complimentary drink to which I declined but it is very nice knowing they do that sort of thing here. I waited about 5 minutes since I was early so when she was ready Jamie called me in and started asking about what I specifically wanted for my haircut as soon as I sat down. I showed her a video of about what I wanted and she explained how she was going to achieve the look I wanted. To be honest I don’t remember how long it took because I fell asleep while she was cutting my hair which just goes to show how comfortable I felt in her hands. When she was done, I was already waking up so she showed me the cut which I was extremely happy with. I also got a straight razor shave which I highly recommend if you have never had one (It was so relaxing I probably would have fallen asleep again if I wasn’t forcing myself to stay awake) Jamie’s hand was extremely steady and it was also the closest shave I have ever had in my life if that’s important to you. She also took the time to answer my questions about styling and the products I should use. I did buy some of the Reuzel shampoo they had as well as some body lotion that was on sale for my girlfriend.
I definitely recommend this barbershop if you’re looking for a high quality cut in a clean and well put together establishment, this is the place for you. I cannot speak highly enough of this barbershop and the people that work here, y’all are definitely worth the 45 minute drive from New Port Richey and have gained a...
Read moreBest place to ever get a haircut for a young gentleman or a grown adult You can't just walk in. Can get a haircut you have to have a reservation. Almost a week in advanced, but it's way worth it. The prices are a couple dollars higher than Supercuts or Sports Cuts. But like I said, it's well worth it. You go into the Front door speak with the concierge tell her who's cutting your hair. They sit you down at the bar and give you a cold mug of beer of your choice as many as you can drink. Before your haircut is up. And if your haircut is up and ready you can take your beer with you. Then they continue to pamper you. Cut your hair as you would like it your beard is well, your eyebrows as needed.. And at the end, they wash your hair. So you don't have to go home and do it yourself and get all that hair off in the shower your self. After a nice shave and hair cut off, you slso get to have a nice hot towel over your face for about 5 minutes. to open up your pores and make your skin glow and look good. It is the only Barbershop I go to now and I've been going there now for almost 2 years. Ed is the barber that I use consistently. He does a great job. I also know Kelly she's been done my hair and she's been dooing a fantastic job as well. But if I was to, i go to men's department shop for the first time, I would choose either en1mm1( since he's a gentleman or Kelly since she's a girl. And she knows men's haircuts like the back of her hand because she's been doing it for over 15 years. Oh, yeah, and plus while you're waiting for your haircut, you drinking your is cold beer those big leather chairs to sit in to wait for your haircut as we⁷ll as a big screen TV to watch whatever you'd like and a big pool table to play pool. Read moreI'm from New York City and have recently relocated to the Clearwater/Largo area. I've tried three other barbershops nearby and every experience has been pretty disappointing. I was honestly getting nervous I would need to go back and forth to NYC to get a decent haircut/fade. I found Men's Dept Barbershop today searching on Yelp and the reviews seemed promising, but I did not expect it to be as great as it was. I called and the front desk associate on the phone was so pleasant and fit me in right away so I rushed over. She greeted me as I walked in and made me feel very comfortable and offered me Beer, Rootbeer Float, etc.. how awesome?! The waiting area is an actual LOUNGE with comfy chairs and a pool table! The entire vibe of this place is right up my alley, I felt I was back in NYC. I was lucky enough to get a time slot with one of their Master Barbers, Olga. She was finishing up a client when I was waiting and made a point to let me know she'd be right with me. She was very welcoming and really listened to what I was looking for. Our conversation was very natural and flowed nicely and the cut comes with straight edge razor, shampoo and hot towel with or without mint scent (very relaxing). For everything included and the ambience of the entire place I was pleasantly surprised that it was only $32. I've paid the same for a LOT less. I actually booked my next cut before I left which feels great knowing I finally found my new spot. Thanks guys for your attention to detail, it's what makes...
