An absolute gem in Largo!
I’ve fallen in love with The Book Rescuers on Ulmerton—what a delightful treasure trove! They offer a vast selection of books in multiple languages (English, Spanish, French, German and more).
What stands out immediately is how meticulously well‑organized the store is—shelves are clearly labeled and divided by category, so finding what you need (or discovering something unexpected) feels effortless.
Speaking of selection: they house three miles of shelving, with over 200,000 items—it's like a bibliophile’s paradise. Prices are incredibly reasonable, typically $1–$3 per book, meaning you can build your collection affordably. They limit your options when paying with things like cash app see pictures I uploaded.
The vibe is warm and welcoming, and the store is full of little touches that make it extra special—like the giant stack of books display that’s not only fun to look at, but has also become a bit of a photo spot. (If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the picture—so cool!)
They also support local educators through a special school program that helps teachers purchase affordable classroom books—such a meaningful initiative!
And if that weren’t enough, they carry puzzles and board games, making it a fantastic stop not just for readers, but also for families looking for affordable fun and educational entertainment.
Why I love The Book Rescuers:
Multilingual book selection
Massive inventory – with miles of shelving and an ever-changing selection
Well‑labeled and organized – easy to browse and discover
Super low prices – most books priced at $1–$3
Teacher support program – helping supply local schools affordably
Puzzles & board games – adds extra family‑friendly appeal
Inviting, positive vibe – you just feel good being there
Epic book stack display – a must-see centerpiece!
If you’re in Largo—or looking for a smart, affordable way to find books and games—this place is a must‑visit....

I’ve been shopping here since they opened. I even have a bumper sticker, so I’m a very long term supporter of this business.
This was my original 2 star review:
“Good selection but it seems like they personally keep, or sell on eBay, their Easton Press books that are donated, which is pretty frustrating since they’re given them for free.
Recently they added many Franklin Library books, which was nice, but doesn’t really make up for the years in which they’ve kept many amazing books for their own personal collection. Two years ago or so, when they first opened, I even asked one of the owners about their personal library and they said they kept them….”
After they responded, I modified my review to this:
“I found their response to my review immature instead of an area for growth for them which is why I initially edited my review from 2 stars to 1 star.”
However, I always think it’s important to come back to reviews and edit them if you genuinely feel moved by a company and if you have found they have grown. They recently sought out vehicles in the community with their OG bumper sticker and both my best friend and I have bumper stickers. They created a beautiful video of appreciation and featured a vehicle in said video. They left a coupon for a free book on that windshield on a very rainy Tuesday. This was genuinely so sweet. While I still feel my original statement is valid and very worth them considering, I ethically can not leave my 1 star review as a 1 star review. As a former teacher myself, I appreciate the things Book Rescuers does to support the teaching community. I do sincerely hope they continue to consider changing the way the distribute not just Franklin Library books but Easton Press books as...
