Went there for the MTG FF pre release. Store was clean, event started on time and product was available for purchase..... but I was not told that it was a casual pre release until deck construction was under way. They run there pre releases as very casual where people get 1 pack for signing up and one pack if they play all 3 rounds. The store is predominantly a casual commander only crowd and there events reflect that. If I had known that I would have drove to El paso to go to a different pre release. I was from out of town and had to be in Las cruces during the FF pre release and didn't know this store was a casual and commander place. I play magic for 1v1 competitive play and I know pre releases are generally more casual but an event this casual is just not fun for me because of what I want to get out of a magic event. A lot of players want exactly the expierience that geekshack provides, but some players a different experience and the 3 star rating is because they didn't make it known the prize structure of the event a head of time. Part of this is my fault for not checking. But at the end of the day I am the customer and geekshack is the business and I didn't have a great customer expierience at this business. I will be the tiny minority in this opinion, but this review will definitely help people know what they will be get attending events here. I regret not driving to some place farther away for the one FF prerelease I would...
