U-Store-It — Local services in Las Cruces

I live very close by this storage facility, and my father rented a unit there for many years. Therefore I didn't even hesitate when an emergency arose and I needed a unit immediately. Currently it is about 90 degrees outside which is very hot for this time of year. Unfortunately all of Las Cruces is under strict rules due to social distancing because of Covid-19, so I put my mask on and attempted to enter the office. Immediately the young lady jumped up and stated " you cannot be in here, there is only one person allowed at a time, you need to wait outside!" I understand the policy as most places are under strict rules at this time. However, I feel appropriate customer service would have been to ask what I was there to do, which could have, at the very LEAST jump started the paperwork while I stood in the scorching sun!!! Instead she jumped me instantly, rudely, and made me feel uncomfortable. I even stayed waiting outside roasting for 15-20 mins before I googled another location to rent units from. Bottom line, everyone is uncomfortable to be in close proximity to anyone these days but to snap at a customer and demand they get out is uncalled for. All she had to do was ask me what I was there to do, explained that I needed to wait outside, maybe show a little empathy, and hand me the proper paperwork, so I could have began filling it out in my vehicle. Customer service is ok. Im giving a rating of 3 stars because at one time i did not have a vehicle but needed something out of my unit so i rode the bus and walked onto the property. On my way out i was confronted at the gate and was told that i could not come on the property unless i was in a vehicle. Believe me if i had that option i wouldnt have been walking. Also because hours show the gates lock at 10 i was there at about 10 till and t.he gate was already locked.

Going down to two stars x For a few reasons. I visited my unit today and had the hardest time getting the latch open upon inspection of the door i saw that someone had tried prying the door open from up top and from the latch. So i finally got in and started to move stuff around when i found the shoes i was looking for i found rodent feces in a couple of the shoes. When i went to the office to report the damage to the door i was a lil' offended by the response i received. The employee replied to me with a lil sarcasm asking if it was only my unit i said yes i looked at the others and they're fine. Then she proceeded to ask "well have you given your code to anyone"? "Or have you brought any one with you"? I took it as if she was trying to put the blame on me. If i could id move else where, im not very...

i had a very bad experience with u-store-it in las cruces nm. The only reason being that the manager (rebecca) was very nice in the beginning when i originally moved in but than after that became very snobbish and ridiculously knit picking and tyrannizing me.From my observation she seems to only do this to a couple people that I've seen but than smiles at others so i dont know if shes having a bad day when i go but i feel i have been bullied and its not right nor is it anyway fair especially being that he rent for these units are so high compared to most other places in las cruces. The young man that works there though is very nice and respectful, helpful, knowledgeable, and everytime i have been there he is always staying busy but always asks if i need help with anything if i do just let him know he should definately be manager.
