Desertgate has lost us. We have been customers of Desertgate Internet for about 9 months. We asked that our account be put on automatic payment withdrawal scheduled for the 3rd of each month because we live on a fixed income. The gentleman who helped us set up our account assured us this wouldn't be a problem. Yet every month it's been a problem. This month when the 3rd rolled around we believed that our payment had been taken out but it turns out the payment wasn't run until the 10th, and of course we were broke by then. We were not disconnected until the 19th and had recieved no call to let us know the situation. An employee named Sharon tried to say that several attempts had been made to reach us but my phone history begs to differ. We waited a week before a manager named Alicia returned our call, only to tell us that the number they had on file was off by one number and thats why we hadn't been reached. Then how did manager Alicia have the right number? I asked employee Sharon if she had my number for her manager to call us back when my husband and I were ending that first call with employee Sharon and she said yes. The fact is employee Sharon dropped the ball, didn't run the payment on the 3rd, didn't reach out to us to rectify the problem before we were totally broke, and disconnected us without so much as a heads up over two weeks after the payment was already supposed to have been automatically made, and manager Alicia covered for her. We are 5 miles from the edge of town and they have to relay the signals 4 times to get it to us. That in itself is above & beyond but even more amazing is that they have maintained the service with very few interruptions, all of which were dealt with in short order and no price increase even though the equipment has been change and speed increased several times. Update March 2022 Our Internet was cutting out and I texted them after hours. I got an immediate response that they knew about it and needed to send a technician out to climb a tower to fix the problem. Also I was in class today and our Wi-Fi was turned off in the middle of it and it lowered my grade in my college class today, so thatās really nice of them.
