Two stars purely for food quality, not exuberance of service (which was fine). Again, I am baffled by the 5-star reviews of a Northern New Mexican restaurant whose food has little flavor or seasoning swimming under too much cheddar cheese. Review descriptions like "very, very delicious" leave me incredulous. The green chili sauce with my flautas was ok, but there was nothing very tasty about the bland chicken in the heavily-fried flour tortilla. A roast beef enchilada I also ordered was just as dull and unimaginative. The refried beans were cold with cold grated cheese placed on top...I had to ask for them to be heated. My husband liked his bacon chili cheeseburger. I did not enjoy my meal, but I'm sure the owners are very nice and try their best. The food just didn't impress. The next time I gamble my carb ticket on local Mexican food, it will only be in Santa Fe where competition hopefully creates exceptional cuisine and...
Read moreThis is one of the best restaurants in Vegas. I ate a cheese enchilada with red Chile and I couldn't stop eating it. It was so delicious! They were busy but tended to us with patience and everyone was so nice. There were 9 of us and we tried each other's food. Steaks were the best ever! We will definitely go eat there again! We visit my Sister in Vegas often! Loved it!!! Okay so we go back a year after the first visit. Heard it was different from the last time we went. I ordered again a cheese enchilada red chile. All of us including my sister and husband ate dinner. We all ordered plates with cheese. The cheese was like chewing rubber! I have no idea what kind of cheese it was but we were all disappointed. We mentioned it to our waiter. WTH kind of cheese you use. It was also so tasteless! Please go back to using the cheese you used before. I won't go back til then. I love cheese but have never eaten cheese that is hard to...
Read moreI've lived in the southwest for about 45 years now and I would have to say that the Southwestern food here was the WORST that I have ever had. A Chili Relleno that instead of being dipped in egg batter was wrapped in a corn tortilla and then deep fried, served dripping with oil? REALLY??? Refried beans straight from the can. Spanish rice was just rice with too much tomato sauce thrown into it. Tacos were just ground beef with very little seasoning and again overly deep fried and dripping in oil.
They couldn't give us Margaritas (or any liquor for that matter) because, we were told that they were renewing their liquor license?? My wife couldn't get the first three of her menu choices because they were out of those items? Her first was Carne Asada. But they had steak on the menu and served Steak Fajitas to another table??
Don't waste you money here. Taco Bell would have been a better choice!
Negative Zero Stars if that...
