8/22/24 Today my wife, my son and I visited this location On a referral that we got from my sons elementary school. When we got there, everything was good. We filled out some papers and after a bit were called up by a very polite bilingual woman whose name I wish I could remember because she was great. She had my son do the regular eye tests where he covered one eye with a paddle and read letters from a distance. Everything was great until we got to the doctor⦠My son tends to fidget and move a lot since he was very small. He had to get stitches on his forehead because of a fall he had, so anything involving his head being close to a machine or being held makes him nervous and he tries to ease it by moving his hands ,talking, or looking around. Heās 100% able to be still and relaxed as he gets his hair cut just fine, it just takes him a few minutes to get adjusted and relaxed. Being that this is a place for kids I figured the doctor would have seen children before who throw tantrums or maybe children who are special needs and is mentally stable enough to handle children of all ages but I couldnāt have been more wrong. From the very first second when he started speaking to my son, it felt as if he was an inconvenience. When my son first sat in the seat and the doctor had to ask him to adjust his head, the doc let out an audible exhale as if he was annoyed. āStop Talkingā , āread thisā āstop readingā āstop movingā āstop putting your face so closeā āthatās not gonna make you see the letters betterā in the voice that I would never speak to my child let alone someone elseās child. My wife and I just kept looking at each other as if to see if we were both seeing/hearing the same thing. My son is a sweetheart and was doing his best to stay still and read the letter that the doctor put up on the screen and it took everything for me not to say something to this person. This doctor has no business being around any children under the age of maybe 10 because itās going to require him to relax and take longer to get their test done. My son was just happy to see the doctor and was exited to get glasses, but on top of that he told us that they donāt give 4 year olds glasses and to come back next year and that then he could get them (my niece who is the same age has had her glasses since she was 4). My son isnāt 4, heās 5, so Iām not sure if it was just his way of getting back at him. Needless to say , but we will definitely not be coming back here for his future exams. This organization is working for a great cause , to help children with low income with their sight. Im not sure if the doctor is the one who runs the place but if not itās a shame this company has doctors that work there who donāt seem to share that same sentiment and care for children as their organization does. I understand that people have bad days, but you donāt take it out on the people you are supposed to be helping. Again, I want to thank the bilingual/ Spanish speaking young lady who helped us. She is a great example of someone who enjoys what they do and I thank her for treating my child with care...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTook my daughter there to get glasses September 3rd, itās November 2nd and still have not received anything. Have been calling and Iāve been told different things from now 3 different people. They told me today I could pick up the prescription at any time, never mentioned having to wait for the doctor or that they charge $50 just for the prescription. I go up there and they tell me itās $50 plus we canāt even get it until tomorrow when the doctor signs it.
We only went here because my daughter just came to us full time and we didnāt have insurance on her at the time, she really needed glasses. Well, big mistake. Looks like back to LensCrafters now that we have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time with EyeCare4Kids and Iām very happy we found them. I was worried when I received a referral from my 5-year olds school nurse that a vision concern was detected as he didnāt have vision insurance. They were able to get me in on a cancellation same day I called. Expect a bit of a wait past your appointment time but when you get helped, the staff is kind and attentive. They gave me helpful advice for my son and gave me information for adult exams in case I wanted to schedule an exam as well. I recommend supporting this company and non-profit as I can see resources are being put to good use. My son had a very pleasant experience for his...
