Used to come here at least 2x a week since the store opened at this location but will never come back here again based on the experience I had today. I usually hit several stores a few times a week since they all in proximity of each other and tonight was one of those times. Was there about 7pm tonight and got into the fast check out lane. The associate refused to let me check out there since it's only for 15 items max and I had maybe 20. She sent me to the lane with a cashier, and mind you, there were only three open lanes and each had a line going into the aisle as usual. It would have taken me 30 minutes to check out there and after waiting for 10 mins in line I went back to the fast lane since there were several registers open and no line. I was half way through the check out, which would have taken me 3-4 minutes since I'm fairly fast at it, and this associate comes over and cancels my order because, again, it's only 15 items max! Now, what would a professional associate do? Correct, let it slide. There was noone behind me, several self check out registers open, and I was almost done. I've never had to deal with such rudeness in my entire life about such miniscule thing! An as associate's job is to actually assist a customer and make the shopping experience pleasant. Again, I used to come here often and the other lady that usually assists in the fast lane is so nice, helpful and polite. IDK if this employee is new but absolutely unacceptable behavior towards a customer. If you have a strict 15 items max policy (which I know it's not, since I've seen plenty of other folks with that at least) , then open enough check out lanes so those with fewer items don't have to wait for half an hour behind others whose carts overfill. One rude employee, one negative experience is all it took to lose a loyal customer. Will never come back again. Plenty of other stores within 5 minutes and it's not worth coming here to deal with such rude personnel after...
ย ย ย Read moreWinCo is awesome in many respects: the selection is outstanding; there are food items you won't find anywhere else in this town. Or that you'd have to drive far to find, in an ethnic enclave specialty market, anyway. The fact that it's open 24/7 is special, because no other groceries are, anymore. When I moved to LV in 1997, pretty much all the groceries were 24/7; all the major ones for sure, were open around-the-clock. Even before COVID, this started to change. Now, as far as I know, WinCo is the only one. But the best thing about the store is the prices: on most items, they are not just cheaper, but significantly so. I'm always amazed when I pay, because the total is shockingly low. But there's one major drawback: the employees and the customers alike are some of the crankiest, most rude unhappy people ever congregated in one place, that I've encountered in this town. I guess I had a terrible experience last Friday. The young man at the deli was really rude to me, and all the customers seemed to be scowling. Even when I'm having a treacherous atrocious day, I can't bring myself to be anything other than bubbly and cheerful when in public. And it's not a facade. It doesn't occur to me to treat people any other way, because I don't like being treated any other way. It's probably a selfish self-defense mechanism, I'll even say, lest I paint myself as a chronic victim of unhappy strangers. Everyone is having a rough time of it these days: why make it worse by sneering at one another, and not smiling or saying "excuse me"? I let 3 people go in front of me because they had so few items compared to me. This is just standard etiquette, from where I'm from. But I feel like an alien...
ย ย ย Read moreI'm in awe with this company, upon walking in they have shopping carts, clean working, available carts. ๐ when entering go to the right, you will be amazed by the great deals along the wall. I call it the impulse wall lol, buying what I shouldn't. Then there's produce, and just about everything else. Candyland exists!!! Being a grocery store employee at stater Brothers in the past, I know what hard work goes into every department. And hands down this store has it going on. Great customer service ๐ clean floors, stocked shelves, the deli had the best pastrami I've ever tasted, cheese..omg.. being a Chef, this is my DISNEYLAND.. After reading other posts about this place, I must say that if you experience this store and have a bad experience, know that you are the shopper. If you picked out a bad jar of something or your produce was not up to par, or the meat or cheese, wasn't that great. Here's a few tips. FIFO first in first out, doesn't mean that you won't get the occasional item that goes bad, check your items expiration date, don't buy the lettuce that is kinda wilted, people will make mistakes be kind when you address a problem. Kindness goes to those who are kind. I myself will not be going to Smiths, they just don't meet my means of great customer service. And that's important to me. Winco has everything you want in a great store. Friendly staff, clean store, great price, great product. Who cares if you can't use a credit card. I do know that money works. Enjoy...the 24 hours, the deli, meat department, produce wow just one big. DISNEYLAND SOMETHING...
