The westcliff has been my favorite neighborhood dive bar since I started sneaking into it when I was 17. I'm 36 now and while I did move away some 6 years ago my moms still lives within walking distance. I held my 21yr old lil brothers funeral memorial there back in 2011, and my surprise 29th bday party was held here same year. This was the first bar owned by the now large vegas lodge group of bar/casinos and in many ways its the neglected oldest bro. They put the least amount of money into upkeep, 4k home big screen smart TVs are already affordable and unexciting by the time they finally removed the old school 4 ton floor projector styled big screen. They have Guinness on tap, and their bar tenders have always been friendly respectful, and very capable, however they turn around rate typically means you'll be carded often! Got my first royal there and the music doesn't typically suck hard either.. although nickleback does get air...
Read moreUsually dead but I like to frequent this place since I live nearby. I was asked to leave the premise due to one of the cooks,Victor Mcconnell, which works in the back and rarely, if ever, needs to come out, complaining to the GM ,Kaitlyn, that I am at the bar with one of his ex's. There is a reason this place is a ghost town, and driving out neighboring customers is not the way to drive up the revenue. He should be able to be an adult and the manager shouldn't have to ask me to not come there while he works there, because how is that professional...
Read moreI come here a couple of times a week to shoot pool, which is free if you buy a couple of drinks while you're playing. Of course I have my favorite bartender for weeknights. I've eaten there three times and was pleasantly surprised at the quality...perfectly cooked fried shrimp, ice-cold fresh salad, and thick chicken fingers. It is laid back but not TOO much and, depending on the bartender, good music is always being played. My ONLY complaint is that their pool tables are neglected...the balls have chunks missing and the tables aren't level. Unfortunately, that's the case at most bars (something I am personally trying to change 😂) Tables aside, I would give them a 5 ❤ More recently they added chairs and tables around the pool tables, making it impossible to shoot properly. I was super disappointed and probably won't go...
