I am hoping one of the cooks was having a bad day..... But if you plan on checking this place out you better eat there or else the guy chews you out. We are from out of town and we were just checking this place out to see what they were offering and when we changed our mind, all of a sudden we got chewed out ( mind you while we waiting to figure out if we were going to eat here, we did use the bathroom) he screamed at us that we didn't buy anything we did offer to buy a drink and he was just got more belligerent.
Edit: not false review. I guess we have our answer that this is not a one time thing. We are actually 6 people. We were not pretending to order we were going to eat here. We were asking question. The cashier told us that she has all the toppings in Spanish. So we asked about a supreme pizza and we're told " what's that?" By the cook. Then a pepperoni " they said it was all vegetarian as this is a kosher restaurant". We understand it's a kosher restaurant but we're told they had all the toppings ( I assumed they would be vegetarian versions) we did not deserved to be treated badly. You did not need to scream at us. You could have acted like an adult and communicated your grievance with us in a different manner and only 3 people used the bathroom. Additionally we did thank you after we changed our mind as we we leaving. But you were too belligerent at this point to listen. Business tip people can change their mind please plan accordingly.
Have the day...
Read moreI have been to 44 of the 50 United States and I have been to at least one Kosher restaurant in each (if they have one) state. Often I've been to many restaurants in states with larger Jewish populations. Never in my life have I had service as good as I experienced at Italo's!
It is difficult to describe because in words it all sounds the same "he asked if we liked the food?" But I'll give you this example, the owner got us serving utensils and placed them at our places even though they were readily available at a station a few feet away that had forks, knives, spoons, ketchup, bentchers, etc. You know what I'm talking about.
And here is all the difference. It was genuine! The owner, in my opinion, cares about his customers and proactively thinks about how to make their experience more enjoyable. Here's another example, almost hard to believe. It was a very hot day (that's the easy part to believe in Las Vegas) and he cut up cold watermelon for himself and also shared a bowl with us. For free! As if we were friends and he had something to share.
I don't know when I'll be back in Vegas. But when I am, I'm going to...
Read moreI’m from Portland, just moved to Las Vegas and more or less just stopping by places when I get hungry and trying them out. Last night I was out shopping for groceries and happened on this place.
I’ve been all over the country and had falafel sandwiches in every corner of the U.S. I’m a chef by profession so I’m kind of picky. This place is 100% legit. The sauces were perfect, the falafel was flavorful, the veggies were fresh and the sandwich was huge. Absolutely the best falafel I’ve had since I left NYC. Hands down the best in Vegas so far.
The people working were incredibly friendly and welcoming, the restaurant was super clean comfortable, and the prices were half of what you’d pay in Portland for food that is vastly better quality.
If you want authentic, quality food, make the drive over here. It’s worth it. I’m trying to talk myself out of driving over for more...
