Traveled from Easton in search of a tin-smithing company and also Hershey Harvest. Learned of it from their TV ads and became curious about its healthy offerings (wife is Organic eater having survived cancer). Found owner couple congenial and staff attentive, and enthusiastic about the home-made products. Bought "Opera fudge" by Asher; HH's scrapple, vanilla ice cream and a stuffed pork chop entree.
We thought meat prices were high and bought none.
Ice cream was dense & creamy, but flavor a bit vague. Overall, would not buy again. Compare's sort of to Yuengling's but more expensive.
Opera Fudge was a little weird. Not fudge nor candy. Just sweet with a bit of dark chocolate after taste. Not fans.
Scrapple was more like corn meal mush and devoid of pork / sage flavor. It took up the flavor of the oil it was fried in with a strong black pepper aftertaste. Much better product to be found at Allentown Farmer's Market.
Not expecting the stuffed pork chop to WOW us. Looks like a lot of bread cubes inside.
Sorry, but we cannot justify a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTried the heritage raw milk at this great local store, and it's pretty good! The store's milk and more dairy foods are from Robert Hershey's own authentically local farm, while various freezers in the store are packed with local meats. It also has shelves with homemade baked goodies, and a variety of more foods.
By the way, Hershey Harvest is obviously named after the owner and is a local labor of love (it's completely unrelated to the chocolate giant).

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Hershey Harvest is a great place to buy premade food and meals and also staples you might need for everyday meals. The harvest is a local store and in the years I have lived here in Temple (10 and counting) the food is satisfying and higher quality than you would find in a typical fast food store like Wawa or Sheetz. The prices are not low but this is a case of getting what you pay for. There are many foods I would recommend. The rice pudding is flavorful and substantial. The dinner platters are very good and it is the kind of cooking you could mistake for home made. I especially like their chicken noodle soup. During a couple of months that I became ill the chicken noodle soup sustained me. It was practically all I could or would eat. Donāt pass the Harvest by. If you havenāt given it a try, check it out. It is located on Kutztown Road. I strongly recommend their...
