C&S Garden Center — Local services in Lawndale

This is a great nursery located in central Hawthorne that has a decent selection of just about everything you may need. Whether you grow tomatoes, blueberries, fuchsia, sunflowers, or cannabis this place has everything you need. This is true of many places in the area, but what separates this nursery is the attitude of the employees and the owner himself. You know who owns the place just by the way he acts. You will also know who takes care of the plants because of how enthusiastic and knowledgeable he is. I help a disabled person get to and from El Camino so I often stop there with him so we can walk around and he can enjoy the plants and walk my dog. I waited until I had been there five times before leaving this review just to make sure it wasn’t a one time thing. I had bought several plants, nutrients and soil, and if I need anything that they don’t carry they offer to order it for me. The prices are not low, but they definitely are not high either. For example I think I paid $-10-$12 for a medium bag of Ocean Forest and $12-$13 for a couple feet of organic acid mix. All their plants are source locally and guaranteed to be appropriate for our environment. That’s not the case with Lowe’s or Home Depot.

Amazing Selection and Helpful Staff

C&S Nursery is hands-down the best plant nursery I’ve visited. They have an incredible variety of both outdoor and indoor plants, and everything is well-organized, making it easy to find exactly what you need. Affordable pricing as well.

The outdoor plant selection is extensive, with everything from flowering shrubs to large trees. I especially appreciated how knowledgeable the staff is — they helped me pick the right plants for my garden based on the climate and sunlight in my area.

The indoor plant section is equally fantastic, with a wide range of houseplants from low-maintenance options to more exotic choices. The staff gave me helpful care tips for each plant I purchased.

Great customer service. Staff is right there to help with anything. This is my first time going to a place that sells plants besides like home Depot, so I don't have much to compare it to. But while I was looking around someone came out to help, who seemed to be new, she was super nice and when I had questions she was quick to find out the answers. Then a young man came out, helped me load my car, placed down plastic so my seats didn't get dirty, and gave me care instructions for the plants I bought. It's a nice little place, they had a pumpkin patch area with hay and a place you can take pictures. Just all around very impressive service, great atmosphere and great selection of plants.
