I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at the Red Roof Inn Express, and I must say it was absolutely dreadful. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by a woman who seemed to have a personal vendetta against black customers. Not only was she rude and racist, but she also went out of her way to make my stay as unpleasant as possible.
The trouble began when I inquired about the deposit policy. I was surprised to learn that I needed to leave a deposit, so I contacted customer service, who assured me that no deposit was required. When I questioned the woman at the front desk about this, she blatantly lied and claimed that I refused to provide my ID and credit card. It was a complete fabrication on her part, and I was appalled by her dishonesty.
To make matters worse, there was a young girl, around 9 to 13 years old, working behind the counter. The woman had the audacity to claim that she didn't know where the girl was and that she was in the bathroom. Lo and behold, moments later, the girl emerged from the bathroom, leaving a line of frustrated customers waiting. This lack of professionalism and disregard for customers' time was beyond unacceptable.
When I decided to report this appalling behavior to customer service, the woman became infuriated and banned me from ever returning to the Red Roof Inn Express. However, I had the foresight to record the entire incident to expose her nastiness and unprofessionalism. I contacted guest services the next day, expecting some resolution, but all I received was a dismissive response, implying that my complaint was inconsequential. It was a complete waste of my time.
This establishment desperately needs new management, someone who knows how to treat customers with respect and dignity. I intend to post the video footage of this woman's distasteful behavior on all my social media platforms, where I have a substantial following of 76k followers. I want them to witness firsthand the deplorable treatment I endured. I strongly urge everyone to steer clear of this place.
In conclusion, my stay at the Red Roof Inn Express was a nightmare. The rude, racist, and dishonest woman at the front desk, coupled with the dismissive response from guest services, made it clear that this establishment does not value its customers. Save yourself the trouble and find...
Read morenot a great experience!!!!!!!!!! arrived in our room in the early evening to discover our bed was neatly made with sheets that someone else had slept in (so gross). Long black curly hair, with a few eye lashes and makeup on the pillow and sheets. Went down to the front desk to speak with someone and waited over 15 minutes. Duke was the only one at the desk, in fact only one in the entire place. He was going in every direction, answering phones, taking check ins and trying to satisfy customers. He said, he would send the sheets up. Left for dinner, when i came back he still did not have a chance to send sheets (i say send sheets, because yes, i hand to change them. It was 11;30 pm when i went back to ask yet again and was handed sheets. I was with two other families whose rooms reaked of cigarette smoke and smelly air units. the next morning we went to the front desk yet again to speak with the manager. I asked for our room to be taken off the bill, we were told he would. the one gentleman in the smoky room was told they would find another room for him to stay in. No one called to say they had a room, with a smoke allergy he had to sleep in that gross smelling room once again. On Sunday morning we checked out and we said we did not want to pay for the smokey room and would like to be compensated for a two night stay we were told they would do it. I checked my bill from the dirty sheets room and instead of taking off a night they added a night (OMG). We were on our way home once i had a chance to read the invoice. I called them and had the bill fixed, so i thought. Once our visa came in my husband noticed it was taken off and added again! I did not want to stay at this hotel, however i was talked into it because it was close to our function. I always read the reviews and rely on them, and i always try to write reviews, good or bad. I realize this was not a top rated hotel, however one should not have to sleep in dirty sheets, deal with stinky smokey smelling rooms, have to change their own sheets and spend their vacation time at the front desk. Hopefully this will be read by someone that can improve the way this...
Read moreI don't like Google's review options. I believe this was a good hotel, but to me that's more than a score of 1/3. It is not "Very Good" and I will explain why.
A couple of years ago they dressed up the Red Roof Inns in the area. They did a VERY NICE job doing so. The furniture is attractive and contemporary, the TV is terrific, bathroom is pretty, and the fridge and microwave is a very nice touch. However, you can take the hooker off the street and dress her up, but if you don't massage her to keep her happy, she will be back on the street. It seems the Red Roof has kept the same maintenance and cleaning staff (and standards) that they had before the dress up.
The first room we were put into had black stuff dripping off the walls, as if someone shook up a can of soda and splashed it all over the wall. TWO walls, opposite sides of the room. Clearly obvious and not cleaned. We were quickly put in another room. The person that checked us in was very nice and accommodating.
Our second room looks OK, and still better than expected for the price we paid. There is dirt in the corners of the carpet where the vacuum doesn't get close to the wall. A hole in the wall by the light switch kind of dresses the place down. The refrigerator doesn't have a small freezer area like most do, and the microwave will get a baby's bottle luke warm after about 6 minutes. There is rust dripping out of the tub overflow. The sink doesn't have a stopper to fill it up for shaving. The carpet is literally coming up from the floor - loose throughout the room.
All that said, this Red Roof is still a great value for the money. We will stay here again if in the area. We would likely get a new microwave, but other than that, you get much more than you expect for the price here. I just hope the inn starts to keep up the maintenance better - when it was newly remodeled, it was an...
