My wife and I are repeat customers and normally we don’t have any problems with Lightnin but they have instituted a new policy of “optional drop and go” where no cleaning is necessary for $150 dollars. We decided we would do what we usually do and clean, drain tanks, then sanitize. Dropped off the unit and was told everything looked great. 2 or 3 days later I received my deposit minus the $150. Didn’t get any communication whatsoever, seemed like they hoped we wouldn’t notice that they still owed us $150. I called and the lady said she would check on it. A day later I got an email saying that the unit had dirt on the tires and that I didn’t drain the tanks so they were keeping the $150. The unit was in immaculate condition inside and out (we took pictures) and the tank was not only drained, but I spent over half and hour doing a black tank flush. We honestly feel disgusted with their behavior lying to our faces saying we didn’t clean therefore we forfeit $150. Beware of this company!!! They will hit you with all kinds of junk fees and then basically force you to pay a cleaning fee even though you spend 2 hours making sure everything is perfect. Congratulations, you lost a solid customer over $150. Just say no to mandatory optional services. THEIR REPLY IS COMPLETE BS! THE TOLIET WAS SPARKLING CLEAN AND I FLUSHED THE TABLET MYSELF. SO HOW COULD IT BE SITTING ON TOP OF TOILET PAPER?? SEEMS TO ME THAT YOUR PROOF IS FRAUDULENT. WHAT WERE THE TANK LEVELS? SMART GUY. WHY WOULD SOMEONE TAKE THE TIME TO DRAIN TANKS AND CLEAN INSIDE JUST TO LEAVE TOILET PAPER SITTING IN THE TOILET? DOSENT HAPPEN. WITH YOUR NARCISSISTIC COMMENTS AND POOR ATTITUDE, WE PLAN ON TAKING THIS TO THE BBB.

Lightnin is taking the current pandemic situation very serious. From minimizing touch points (pickup/dropoff) to disinfecting the camper. We felt really good and safe with the rental. We rented a Brand New Grey Wolf 24js from Lightnin. We booked the RV last minute on a Friday morning around 10:30 AM (same day pickup) & the RV was available and ready to pickup in couple of hours (We picked the RV at 4 PM Sharp : Very professional about the pick up timings which I loved it the most). Usually its difficult to find RV's last minute however Lightnin made it available for us which we really appreciate it. We rented the RV for 10 days and loved the experience. The staff over there could not have been more helpful in the set up and pick up. RV was equipped with everything we needed. The rates are lower compared to many other RV rental places (Just from my personal experience). I strongly recommend this place to have a wonderful experience. Keep doing the GOOD WORK!

My family thoroughly enjoyed the travel trailer for our Thanksgiving getaway 2021. They have a large selection to choose and we tried the 31 ft Grey Wolf with the Slide Out Bunk. Our teen claimed the bunk space immediately and everything was comfortable/clean in the entire unit plus it had so many amenities. We received outstanding customer service from Margaret, Jonathan and Randy! During our walk through, Randy was very knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable with how everything operated for our first time experience on renting the travel trailer. We will certainly be repeat customers and highly recommend Lightnin RV. *UPDATE....we just came off our 2nd trip (July 2022) and again rented from Lightnin RV. Another great experience and customer service, we are already looking at when we can do another trip!

In summary, the RV was great but the company basically stole our security deposit. Look at their photo evidence and decide for yourself.

Renting from Lightnin RVs was a mixed bag and I personally will not be renting from them again. Keep in mind, this was our first time renting an RV, so we made some rookie mistakes. Pickup was easy. The RV was in great shape and the condition matched the photos online. Our first mistake was not checking the fill level of our black water tankbefore we left. When we reached our campsite we found out that the black water tank was two thirds full. Otherwise, our time staying in the RV was great. When we returned the RV there was absolutely no documentation in the "Rental Handbook" about the condition it was expected back in. With that in mind, and because we were rushed, we swept out the inside but did not mop it. Muddy floor aside, the RV was returned in exactly the condition it was picked up in.

More than a week after we dropped it off, we had not heard back about our security deposit. I called them to ask about it and learned that they were not giving our deposit back due to the mud and evidence of dogs in the RV. This was a huge surprise for us for many reasons 1, that a company would just take a $500 security deposit without saying a single word to us, 2, because there was never a dog in the RV, and 3, there was no documentation stating that slightly muddy floor was cause for withholding our security deposit.

They sent over some pictures that I've attached to the review of evidence of a dog being in the RV. At this point it devolved into finger pointing, where we had no way to prove that we hadn't brought a dog into the RV other than the fact that we were at a 4 day music event that dogs are not allowed to, and our trailer was searched upon entry. The pictures show an absolutely tiny amount of hair. It would be impossible to avoid some hitchhiking in on our clothes and linens and gear, as 3 out of 4 of us come from homes with dogs. We understand that Lightnin runs a business, and that there are probably plenty of people who try to pull a fast one on them, but losing your security deposit after having followed the guidelines to the letter is beyond frustrating.

The moral of the story is that you should be very wary of getting your security deposit back when you rent from this company. Every other part of our experience with them was great but the way the deposit was handled was beyond shady. We will not be dealing with them again and recommend you rent an RV from...

I have rented with Lightnin RV twice but probably won't again. The first time (about 2yrs ago) there was a miscommunication with pick up time and we ended up having to pay for an extra day. (Thought it was like car rental times). The second time (just this past week) I was disappointed because the travel trailer layout that is posted on their website is not what we rec'd. I paid extra for the larger trailer even though it was just my husband, my infant and myself because I was planning on putting his playpen where i could see him and not directly in front of the outside door. This other layout made me very uncomfortable as a new mom and caused me to put my little one in the bed with us. This resulted in NO REST for mom on a much needed vaca and the start of retraining of sleep training now that baby has had a whole week of sleeping with his parents. Anyway, when I contacted them about this problem and expected some type of compensation, they just responded that their terms allows them to change reservations. Changing it is one thing, but without prior notice is another and unprofessional in my opinion. I was the one who booked the reservation but sent my husband to pick it up so my little one wouldn't have an even longer car ride. To add to this review, the insulation on these "newer 2022" trailers is horrible. the closets surrounding the head of the main bed had heat coming through them like a furnace. The double bed area and bathroom were the same. I thought the bottom bunk would be great for my infant to crawl around and play with his toys but it was extremely hot. We couldn't use those parts of the rv in the middle of the day and had to close the curtains (around the bunk beds) and the bedroom door. Glad no one else came with us and were depending on those beds. We also didn't have any shades on the 2 door windows and had to improvise. (update) Just wanted to add that when we had an issue with the electricity after hours, we left a message and they called back within a few mins to walk us through...
