Elgin Pharmacy — Local services in Lawton

Everyone here has been so helpful over the years with my list of meds, keeping me on track, helping with neverending insurance nightmares, advising us on OTC products we may need... we appreciate them SO much! We love requesting refills thru the app, and keeping up with when things are due that way is quite helpful. The staff are all very knowledgeable, helpful, and empathetic. It has made SUCH a difference in my care, vs when we had to depend on Walgreens or CVS, which was a mess...staff there seemed...kind of "meh..." Iykwim? They would just shrug it off if they hadn't ordered in a crucial med that wasn't available anywhere else as a backup, and I have NEVER had that happen in Elgin!

I encountered many haphazard "rules" from individual pharmacists who just seemed to want to Lord power over customers, like when we could pick up certain Rx's. This crap would sometimes leave me to sit there, sick and alone, in town, at the waiting area, until past midnight so it was technically the day one or the other said I could have my meds (so I wouldn't have to drag children back into town the next day, while sick). A few of these "professionals" would then decide that "the next day," as they had specified, and saw me waiting for (unnecessarily, but for their own random personal rules) actually meant 8 am or something...like they were just waiting to tell me, to see what I would do. I managed to shame them into getting things done, but it was ludicrous...what difference does a few more hours make?? So childish and rude.

The shop in the new building is absolutely adorable, it's a good thing we have a bit of self control, or we'd have a truckload of goodies to haul home each time! ☺️☺️☺️ They also, of course, have a terrific selection of those OTC items that you suddenly need, that aren't available at dollar & grocery stores. It is SUCH a relief to not have to drive to Lawton just for a small item or two!

I have been very pleased with the work the Elgin Pharmacy does… from the careful and accurate prescriptions to the friendly service with a smile. When you think about it, most people are getting prescriptions because they are experiencing some kind of malady (and that’s never fun). So, their clients (and spouses and/or families) are often stressed and maybe even miserable! Yet the EP staff has remained professional, helpful, informative, knowledgeable, supportive, and/or even happy to serve their constituents! What a blessing through my difficulties at this time!
