I recently visited the newly opened Ked’s on Ronald Reagan Blvd. I’ve been to their Dallas location before and had a really good experience there, so I was expecting something similar this time. Sadly, it was quite the opposite.
The place is big, but the maintenance felt very poor. Tables were unclean, and the staff seemed a bit lost and disorganized. I tried to overlook that since ice cream is usually a quick pick-up thing, but the ice cream itself was frozen rock hard and tasted stale. It looked like the freezers weren’t maintained properly because they were full of ice buildup. The staff even had to pull the whole tub out of the freezer and scoop it on a side table. That alone showed how hard the ice cream was, and when I tasted it, it lacked texture and freshness.
I also ordered the Punjabi Falooda, but it wasn’t any better. They seemed to be running out of ingredients and left it sitting unfinished for a while. When it was finally done, it had that same stale taste. I ended up throwing away both the ice cream and the falooda after just a few bites.
Overall, it felt like inexperienced management and unorganized staff. The place has potential, but it needs serious improvement in maintenance, quality control, and training. I really hope they fix these issues because Ked’s is known for good desserts, and this location didn’t do justice...
Read moreKed’s Ice Cream 🍨 is a nicely designed dessert spot with a pleasant indoor seating area 🪑 and a relaxed atmosphere. They also have board games 🎲, which make it a fun place to sit down and enjoy a treat with friends or family. The staff were friendly and welcoming 😊 — they clearly explained their current offers and any exclusions, which was appreciated. I tried three flavors during my visit: Gulab Jamun, Sitaphal (Custard Apple), and Peshawari 🍧. The Gulab Jamun ice cream had small bits of the sweet but lacked the expected syrup flavor or creaminess. It didn’t really capture the rich, warm sweetness you’d associate with an actual gulab jamun dessert. The Peshawari flavor was quite plain — it mostly tasted like milk, without any strong nutty or aromatic notes. The Sitaphal ice cream was decent, with a few fruit bits for texture, but the sweetness level felt a bit low, leaving it somewhat underwhelming. While the concept and variety are appealing, the flavors could use more balance and richness to stand out. The overall experience was just average, but the friendly service and comfortable space made the visit pleasant. There is a scope for improvement with few more tweaks to the flavours...
Read moreKeds Ice Cream on Leander is hands down one of the best ice cream spots I’ve been to in a long time. You can really taste the quality in every scoop — it’s creamy, flavorful, and never overly sweet. They have such a great range of flavors, from the classics to some really creative seasonal ones. My personal favorite ones are chikoo, sitaphal, lavender honey , cashew raisins ... which tastes incredibly fresh and perfectly balanced. The staff are always friendly and patient, happy to let you sample flavors before deciding. The shop itself has a cozy, welcoming vibe that makes it a perfect spot to hang out with friends or grab a treat after dinner. You can tell they put real care into what they make — it’s not just ice cream, it’s an experience. If you’re anywhere nearby, you have to stop by Keds on Leander. You’ll leave smiling (and probably planning your next visit before you’re even...
