TLDR; Book with Mimi. Not only is she a marvelous and talented stylist and artist but she is also a beautiful soul. Also, an important note that I think Many will find important- If you have thick hair And want it short, but are afraid you will look like Dora the Explorer. Mimi won’t do that to you. She corrected my Dora the Explorer cut
After years and years of bouncing from stylist to stylist to try and find someone that not only is a master at what they do, but someone that I also connect with and can trust trust wholeheartedly, I was so happy to have been recommended to Mimi. I will follow her to the ends of time, I will never stop recommending her to anyone that even briefly mention needing even the slightest of trims. She truly hears your needs wants, and past hair struggles and teams up with you to not only move past those, but to also leave you with a cut that feels 100% you.
Let me tell you a little story. It was my wedding day. I was eloping at the Travis County courthouse. I’m in my bathroom, the AC is down to 67. It’s been 2 1/2 hours. My hair has been curled straightened and re-curled. I am sweating and my arms feel like noodles. My updo is not coming out at all the way I was trying to get it to. What do I do? I FaceTime Mimi in the middle of a Slight (I swear only slight) Anxious episode because I have given up. I’m going to take a chance and hope that Mimi is available to meet me at the courthouse later that day to fix the rat nest that would not stay in no matter how many bobby pins I stabbed it with. Mimi answers his FaceTime with the kindest and most warm smile on her face and immediately agrees to meet me (I know that she had better things to do That day, But she was willing to fit me in) But before she hangs up, she asked to see what’s going on on top of my head. I prop her up on a makeshift stand, made of empty coffee, mugs, and my toothbrush And I do a little spin and over the next 22 minutes Mimi carefully guides me Into the most beautiful up do I could have possibly dreamed of pulling off while sweating on my bathroom floor. And she STILL offered to meet me if I wanted her to.
Now I want you to think to yourself… would my current hairstylist really do this for me? If the answer is not any immediate jumping up and down, screaming, yes, absolutely they would- just book with Mimi already.
Listen, I’m not good with words, but I am good at screaming. BOOK WITH MIMI. TREAT YOUR LOVED ONES WITH A GIFT OF MIMI’S EXPERTISE.

Read moreI initially went to Salt Wave Salon for hair extension replacements. I invested a good amount for hair extensions/color matching services/and hair products. I was happy to make the investment of time and money because I was confident, I was getting quality services and hair. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I went in to have the extensions thinned out and have 1 inch removed from the length. Before I realized what was happening, 4-6 inches had been removed from my new hair. This fundamentally changed the way the hair looked all together. I left the salon with a polite smile but was devastated. Once I confirmed how much length had been removed, I called and the salon and I told them too much was taken off, and they had me come back yet again. The owner acknowledged that the cut was drastic, and also pointed out that the color matching was off. They fixed the color and claimed to have ordered replacement extensions. To date the replacement hair has not come in, and to make the deal even sweeter, after having the hair for just under a month, an entire row of hair fell out and was hanging on just by one side. The owner of salt waves was neither apologetic or accommodating in correcting this, and ultimately, I elected to go somewhere else for removal. If you are looking for a salon where you can sit back and relax and know that you are in good hands with skilled extension and color specialists, then this is not the place. I wish I could recommend this salon since they are local, but when I objectively evaluate what happened: they charged me a lot of money and took a lot of my time for hair extensions that were then immediately cut short, badly colored, and then fell out because they were improperly placed, none of which is desirable in a salon, but their lack of communication and reluctance to ultimately take responsibility and make it right is an even...
Read moreUPDATED REVIEW: I have now been a client for almost five years. I literally drive over an hour for my appointments because they are THAT GOOD. Every staff member is amazing, Val is my fav. Thanks S+W for spoiling me every visit 💛
I went to Salt + Wave for the first time yesterday. I almost didn't go for lack of online reviews, but I am so glad I didnt let that stop me. My experience started when I called to make my appointment. I spoke with Cassidee(sp?) one of the owners. She was super accommodating and helped me find a stylist and appointment time that would work for me(I have four kids, so not the easiest😂). I made an appointment with Morgan for a partial highlight. She was so great about asking me what I wanted, how I normally styled my hair, and looked at pictures with me to make sure she knew what I was asking for. I didn't feel rushed or pressured to make a decision which was great since I was doing something completely different than my norm. She walked me through the entire process and gave me the pricing beforehand which was super helpful. After she took out the foils and shampooed 💆♀️ my hair, she had me double check the color to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. I haven't ever had anyone do that before. The salon was also super cute, trendy, and comfortable. I will definitely be back and will highly recommend them to my friends and family. Thank you so much for a great experience. I love my...
