This was our first time trying Brooklyn Heights Pizza, we stopped in at the Lakeline location on a Thursday evening. The place was a bit crowded, but we were seated immediately.
Maddie was our server, she was awesome, attentive but not intrusive. Thanks Maddie!
We started with the chicken wings … medium buffalo style sauce, and they were excellent. Perfect balance of heat on the wings, and the wings were fried crispy, just how we like them! The celery and blue cheese on the side were a nice complement to the wings.
We split the large Greek salad, which was full of quality ingredients. Nice size for two people to split. The Greek dressing appeared homemade, it was delicious! (if it's not homemade, please share the brand! LOL)
We tried two pizzas, the margarita pizza with pepperoni added, and the combo pizza with onion added. Both pizzas were outstanding! We are pretty tough critics when it comes to pizza, but we have to say that the pizza at Brooklyn Heights pizza is some of the best we’ve had in the Leander/Cedar Park area. The crust is nice, edges crunchy and soft, the middle crust stiff enough to hold the ingredients and a nice "chew" factor. The cornmeal dusting was perfect!
BHP, thanks for a great meal! We were a bit hesitant to try BHP, because of some of the low ratings from reviewers, but we're sure glad we did! We will definitely be back!
Update October 25, 2023
Ordered delivery tonight from BHP (after another local place messed up delivery). The food was delivered quickly, and consistent with all of our other experiences at BHP, the food was great, even delivered (this was out first time ordering for delivery).
We ordered wings and 2 Greek salads as starters, both were deelish! The wings were simple wings, no breading, no frills, just plumb wings fried crisp and tossed in a medium heat buffalo-style hot sauce. When it comes to great wings, simple is king! The Greek salads were a bit on the small side, but the ingredients were super fresh and the dressing was wonderful.
Two pizzas followed ... one was our creation of meats and veggies, the other was the house "American Cheeseburger" pizza. Both pizzas were very good. All ingredients (again) very fresh, and generous portions piled on the pies. We ordered large sizes to have leftovers, which were equally delicious when warmed in the oven the next day. We really like BHP, highly recommend!
Update May 16, 2024
We had wings and Greek salad delivered this week. Not as good as last time, but still tasty! The issue we had was with the wings, not cooked quite as long this time around, more fatty than crispy. The sauce was good though, but we'd back up to medium buffalo sauce next time, the hot was a bit too much, even for us fire-eaters. Not BHP's problem as all. The wings came with the traditional celery sticks and blue cheese dressing, the blue cheese dressing was very good. We had the large Greek salad this time, which was plenty for the two of us, and is a better deal than the two small salads we got last time. As always, the Greek dressing was terrific. Recommend BHP for wings, salad and pizza!
Update 03-2025
Wings and salads (Greek and Caesar) from Brooklyn Heights this evening. Kind of a last minute thing, but the food was delivered early! Called the store after ordering to follow up on request for crispy wings… message got through! Wings were very good, medium buffalo sauce. Salads were a bit in the small side, but very fresh and dressings were tasty. Will...
Read moreI will start with saying that I only came to this place because my friend loves it there, and she always organizes our get togethers. My first visit wasn't very impressive. The salad was okay (which is understandable - it's a pizza place), and the service was alright. I went for the second time last week, and I will never be back. I arrived about 20 minutes later than my friends did, so they had a round of drinks already when I got there. I ordered a drink and the waitress immediately took away all of the menus without asking if we were hungry - even considering the fact that I had just sat down. When she came back with my drink, I asked for the menus back and we all ordered food. After we ate, the bus boy came to get our dishes, which we had neatly stacked for him because my friend is a server and she likes to be courteous to serving staff when we eat out. Well, when the bus boy grabbed the plates, he did so with one hand and wasn't very careful, and a side of balsamic vinaigrette fell in my lap, spilling the oily liquid all over my jeans. He looks at me with a nonchalant "sorry" and just stands there for a few seconds. I hastily asked for a wet rag, so he left, and came back a minute later and said, "we ran out of wet rags". My next thought was, "Are you serious? You can't get a rag wet with running water and bring it to me?". I went to the bar and asked them for a wet rag and they provided me with one as well as club soda to try and stop it from staining (olive oil is the worst on clothes). After all that, a manager, Rex Hutchison, came out and asked me how I was doing. I told him what had transpired and he gave me his business card and said he would "pay for my dry cleaning IF it stained". They then charged me full price for my entire meal which was $20. Honestly, I am a busy person with a full time office job. I don't have time to deal with taking a pair of jeans to a dry cleaner, much less chasing someone down to pay for it. He could have kept a customer if he would have just comped my meal and called it a day. I will never be returning to this Brooklyn Heights location, or the one in Cedar Park, since Rex made a point to tell me he manages both locations. There are simply far too many options with better food and service to waste my time at a place that treats their...
Read moreFirst time customer. Sat at the bar and ordered TO GO meatball app, mozz stick app, lasagna entree and 15pc wings (Brooklyn Inferno sauce). Meatballs are def housemade. Sauce and the mozz cheese topper were heavenly. Mozz sticks are pre-frozen but done exactly the way you would expect them to be. The marinara sauce for dipping was about as good as you can get. Meat lasagna was a home run and I highly recommend it, HUGE portion. The wings were touted to be "inferno" with habanero but were mild at best. The sauce was quite good but I could not taste the distinct fruity habanero flavor which I love. Verdict: NOT habanero. The quality of the chicken gets one star. WAYYY overcooked and dry. The bleu cheese dipping sauce was chunky and fantastic though. I drank 2 Shiner Bock draught and 1 Guinness draught while I waited. The Shiner was VERY foamy which means bad temperature, bad CO2 pressure or cleanliness issues(ewww). The temp and pressure seemed fine. The taste of the Shiner was a bit off which means that the pouring system needs a good cleaning(please). The bartenders need to be trained on a proper Guinness pour for sure. It was a good center pour but too rushed. A customer ordering a Guinness deserves a proper pour. Temp was good. Service was average. I spent $70 on food and drink(to go) and would have liked a smile or 2 from service staff. Overall its a decent place with inconsistency in food/bev quality and service. 3 stars for service. 3 stars for food(would have been 5 without the wings). 1 star for beer quality, cleanliness and presentation. Not sure why the staff is all in t-shirts either. This place can def do better. I...
