Beware the seafood department at that particular Giant on Battlefield. Got home Sunday 11/28/2021 to a smelly piece of Salmon, like really smelly. I Cooked it anyway thinking maybe the heat would kill any bacteria and it would be ok. It was definitely not. Caused severe abdominal pain and diarrhea that night and the following morning. And I have a strong stomach. Couldnât eat the whole thing and was ashamed at myself for even trying to eat it.
Tell the seafood guy to take his headphones off, be more attentive, and SMELL THE FISH before giving it to customers. He even wrapped it real nice and tight and double bagged it, like he knew it smelled but sold it anywayâŚ
Also the whole store is backwards, like a mirror mage to all the other Giant stores Iâve been too. Annoying every time I go in there. Iâll never go there again, Iâll stick to the Catoctin Location and will personally, thoroughly inspect and smell the fish before they...
Read moreThis grocery store is ok. The quality of produce is really hit or miss. I'm always just disappointed by the amount of expired or near expired food on shelves, particularly avocados, bread, bags of lettuce, fruit. I didn't feel like making yet another trip to return it so it was just money wasted. I liked having the option of ordering groceries when I was pregnant and now with being busy with kids, but again it is disappointing to be given expired or moldy foods. I rather have them tell me it is out of stock than pay for expired food. When you have to go return things it defeats...

They are supposed to discount you 5 cents for each bag you bring in for them to use. First, you usually have to ask them for them to do it. Second, the last time I had six bags and they gave me credit for only three. More than once, I've put merchandise on the belt for the cashier and it never made it home.
It's sad to have to watch every little thing to make sure you get what you should. It's draining.
As far as the self-checkout in one review; most stores...
