Atomic trampoline is not a safe place for adventurous children, not well maintained, and is understaffed. A horrifying or even traumatic experience might be the best words to describe my time there. This story is not an exaggeration.
The short story⦠There was no staff anywhere regulating anything in the jumping area. In the foam pit, a boy climbed to the top of the padded wall. He fell through a gap between the net and the padded wall, 10 to 12 feet to concrete below. There were steel bar supports between top and floor he could have hit while falling. He at the least fractured both his arms and could have broke other things that were not obvious.
The Long story⦠Early afternoon on March 27, 2022, my son had a birthday party at Atomic Trampoline with about 15 kids. I was standing next to the foam pool taking pictures of my son playing when I suddenly heard a boy crying. He began wailing, not an ordinary cry. I was concerned. He was close but I couldn't figure out where the cry was coming from. I realized it was coming from under the trampoline.
I tried to figure out how to get to him, but I couldn't, so I started looking for staff. There was no staff anywhere in the entire jumping area. I ran to the front desk where there was a young man working. I told him there was a boy stuck and possibly hurt under the foam pit. He looked at me with a blank stair and began slowly walking to the pit. I told him he should hurry, but he ignored my suggestion. I ran ahead since there was no sense of urgency on his part.
When I got back to the foam pool the boys mother had pulled a wall panel off to provide access under the pit. I couldn't see him but heard his screams. Knowing he needed immediate help, I jumped down about 5 - 7 feet to the concrete below that was cover in an inch of lint. It was dark and dirty. I heard screaming in a different area from before and saw him moving on the floor in the dark. He had moved, trying to find a way out. I quickly got to him but was scared to move him because I knew he was hurt. He was rolling around in agonizing pain. That is when his dad jumped down the same way I came in. I called him over to where we were. It was dark and hard to see. He immediately picked his son up and held him in his arms. I could tell both the boy and his father where scared, but I was trying to stay calm to help the situation. The worker was no where to be found. He never came down or attempted to.
His father carried him to where we jumped down so we could look at him in some light to see how badly he was hurt. It was still dark though. We saw some blood on his dirty face around his mouth. His father wanted to get him out, so I climbed up (not easy). He lifted the boy up to me where I was able to cradle him and lay him on the ground where his mother and a group of people had congregated.
The boy was still wailing in pain and never stopped during this entire experience. Now that we could see in the light, I saw both his arms were fractured. Every time he raised his arms his wrists and hands hung limp. The boy's mother called an ambulance first, then the young staff worker also called. We tried to keep the boy calm until medical help arrived. A first-responder in the building (not staff) came over to help to ensure the situation was not life threatening. Then a person on staff that was some kind of medical person showed up much later after we already had things under control. She must have been on break. When the ambulance and medical staff arrived, I got out the way.
After talking to a staff member later, I found out there was a known gap between the net and the padded wall. The boy's mom was close to me but was not paying attention, probably only a minute. The 7-year-old boy climbed to the top and fell through the gap. Yes, there are signs that say not to do this, but anyone with a little boy knows they constantly test boundaries, especially in an environment like this one.
They are completely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust had my sonās birthday party there tonight and will never go back! The only reason I am even giving this place a 1 is because the kids had a good time. Cleanliness- gross, smells bad Food- only option was pizza and their pizza is Gross! Overall condition of park- run down and not safe! There was a huge hole in one of the trampolines which to me poses a huge safety issue. They also replaced their foam pit with a launching pad that collapsed with my son and friends inside of it. Their āfixā for both problems was duct tape. Service - absolute zero and Iād NEVER recommend holding a party here. Got there 15 mins before the start of our party to set up (was told to arrive 15 mins early). There was another party going on in the room and didnāt get in until our party started. Our party host was nowhere to be found. There was only 1 person working the front desk so while there was an āexpeditedā line for party check ins- guests sat there waiting in regular line. I had to ask if someone could come help check in my guests that sat in line for 10-15 minutes which ate into their jump time. Then they werenāt telling the guests which party room to go to, forgot to give half of them socks so they had to go get back in line. About 20 minutes into our party- our party host showed up to introduced herself and confirmed our food order. The parties are supposed to be an hour of play of play time, hour in party room. An hour and 15 minutes after our party started and we hadnāt been called to our room for food- I started wondering if they forgot us. Go to the front desk to ask what time the pizza is going to be served for our party and was told Iād have to ask our host- to which I said- well where is she? The kids started filtering into the party room on their own out of hunger and being thirsty and the party host happened to be bringing pizza in. I asked her, did you announce for his party to come back here? Nope. So I asked if she could do that. The party host did not assist at all. My guests were helping pass out pizza and drinks. Usually at these places the party host cuts and passes out the cake. Nope me, my husband, and another mom took care of this. Now the party has ended. No party host in sight. Go to the front desk and ask if I need to check out and sign anything or do they just charge any balance to my card on file - complete check out and final payment at front desk. Then we literally broke down everything, packed it all up on our own and rolled it out to our car. We were unloading into our car when the party host came out to the parking lot asking if we needed our check to pay our bill. Nope- we did that 20 minutes ago through the front desk while you were nowhere to be found. This is the worst experience Iāve had at these party venues and we will never be back even just...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSafety- the biggest priority at a kids park like this- was not monitored well here. There was just one person watching the whole area and he seemed to only watch the jumping part. Thereās a whole seperate dodgeball part that wasnāt monitored. The trouble is itās mixed ages and no one monitoring. You had grown adult men in there trying to chuck the ball at their kids but missing and hitting other smaller kids, as well as older male teenagers doing the same. You have very tiny kids like 4 year olds mixed with 17 year olds .. if there no age restrictions or age zones/ it should at least be heavily monitored. For paying $21 plus socks plus tax for 2 hours, there should be more surveillance. My 4 year old son snuck into the area and ( open entry ways ) and came out two seconds later with a bloody lip in several places. I had him stay out of there. A boy about 10 years old was on the ground after getting a friendly hit, then an older kid saw him on the ground , went almost two feet away from his face- and slammed a ball right into his eyes/ forehead. He was crying and rolling in pain on the mat. Everyone including adults just stepped around him continuing to play. I went up to him, helped him out, and had him show me to his mom ( he couldnāt see very well due to the eyes injury ). He seemed a boy the type of age and demeanor where he wouldnāt cry like that unless it was serious . Another Saftey mishap is the way to the doors / exit having no gate. The idea of parks like these are for parents to relax a little and not have to be so hypervigilant of their kids escaping out a door. Every park Iāve ever been to, there was ALWAYS a gate for entering and exiting the area. Several times I had to run after my son who didnāt see me sitting there at glance and thought I was in the bathrooms so he just easily walked right down the stairs, right where the exit door is to the street. I had to be so extra vigilant. I feel like there must be some sort of policy at these places for gates leading to exits. There are very small kids here too and itās SO busy and chaotic you could loose track of your kid easily . They donāt enforce trampoline rules like at other parks. My son just came to me saying a boy tackled him and my son was limping on one of his legs (my son is not one to want to stop the play and even ignored the bloody lip , this is the first time weāve been to a play center and seen so many injuries from him and other kids ). Everyone just runs around crazy ⦠There needs to be more seating when itās this busy and at least two watchers for the trampoline part ( or age separated parts ) and a seperate watcher for the dodgeball or I donāt...
