I like Dick's Sporting Goods for some of their athletic clothing, weight-lifting equipment, and boxing/mma equipment.
BUT when it comes to buying ammo at Dick's it is often a pain in the a**.
A few weeks ago I was in Nashua, NH doing some shopping, so I decided to stop by Dick's to buy some ammo. I waited close to an hour, but no employee showed-up to help. I asked for assistance multiple time, but still no one showed-up.
On my way home, I stop at the Leominster location. I was able to puchase ammo and it only took about 10 minutes. The employee was not the friendliest person in the world, but he did his job. The knife/scope display case had a few smashed shelves, but the broken glass was not exposed to customer, so it did not present a danger to customers. It just looked terrible.
To their credit, I contacted Dick's via their web site and they appoligized and sent me a gift card.
I received an e-mail from Dick's today advertising Remington 50-round box of 9mm ammo for $12.98. I decided to go in and buy some ammo and use my gift card. There was an employee working in the area and he assisted me immediately. I asked about the 9mm ammo that was on sale and he told me that only ammo on sale is the Blazer ammo. I asked if it was $12 “something” per box (because I didn't remember the exact sale price) and the employee responded “yes.” I didn't want Blazer because I reload, the Blazer ammo is made with aluminum case which should not be reloaded, and the advertised Remington uses brass – a safe/acceptable reloading material. So, the Blazer is an inferior product. but I thought the price was okay.
I didn't check the price on the reciept until I got home. I was charged $15.99/box. That is $32 for 100 rounds of aluminum cased 9mm! I got screwed! The employee lied to me and the result was; I got an inferior product for a much higher price.
Dick's sale prices on ammo is usually higher than the every-day price at Walmart. So I am done dealing...
Read moreHorrible customer service. Employees were incredibly rude to my very pregnant daughter. Needed to change the pickup person for an online order but couldnt do it online. I chatted with customer service online who told me to call the store and they would take care of it for me. When I called, they said no and told me to call the 800 number. Called the 800 number and because of the trouble I was experiencing they called the store directly and told me to send her a pic of my ID as proof it was for me. My daughter went to the store and they said, "oh yeah corporate did call but we dont know why". Seriously!?!?!? She showed them my ID and her ID and bc she is married with a different last name they would not give her the order even though I called and then corporate called and gave her full name. The girl at the register then told my daughter to move so she could help the next person. She left the store. I then checked her in by her clothing for which it stated you didnt need an ID and my daughter showed the associate the confirmation and she responded with, yeah but I want one, asking for her ID. So much drama and stress for NOTHING!!! Rude employees that apparently love to give people the run around for fun!!! They should have verified my order WHEN I CALLED and not gone through all of this! The best part was the girl the second time had the box in her hand and still gave her a hard time. Was it cause she was with her wife and having a baby any day? Was it cause your store associates do not have customer service skills that are needed? Were you ignoring the call from corporate because you wanted to and thought it was funny?!?! Ridiculous!!! Learn how to...
Read moreI had to return a reel for fishing a while back because the one that I had gotten was not operating correctly. I went in without a receipt and asked for them to give me credit just to switch out for the same fishing reel. The lady who was helping me was very nice about it and gave me no problem whatsoever. Now today again I had bought a fishing reel pole combo from Lews the American Hero combo which I have to say had great action on the rod and very smooth quick retrieve on the reel. The only problem with it was for some reason when you would cast I don't know if the bearings were getting stuck inside the baitcasting reel or what but it would just stop and it caused me to snap off a couple very expensive lures. Again I went back without a receipt which I should probably start remembering to put somewhere and traded it in 4 a little bit of an upgrade to the Mach 1 Lew's baitcasting Rod combo. I had no problem paying the difference because I knew I was getting the upgrade and also the line I had on the real was 30 lb braid from Power Pro which was a 300 yd spool. The spool of line itself was $30 and it was on the combo I had returned. The gentleman that I was dealing with at the front counter traded the spool of wine out no questions asked. I have to say that every experience I have had at the Leominster Dick's Sporting Goods has been very delightful and easy going. Keep up the good...
