I be been shopping at that food lion for twenty five years mostly for the most part cashiers are always friendly but thereās a couple managers I guess they are they wear white shirts, one the tall balding man the last time I spoke to trying in passing he told me canāt you see im busy I donāt have time to fcking stand around and talk to you ok I sensed hostility and disrespect aggression I thought heās having a bad day and let it pass today while shopping he ended up for whatever reason standing beside the auto door and instead of letting the customer go first he walked out first and didnāt even say howās it going or just whatās up I have owned my own grocery store before. I grew up in a grocery store that my family owned sure there were people that were my customers that abrasive and whatever but I never treated them like this I think heās just burnt out and needs to find a new job maybe or heās over compensating for having a girls job and try to show how manly he is Iāve heard him talk to elderly people and was disrespectful impatient with them I over my life have worked for the public the customer deserves respect and patience and a kind word and for a another thing I sense the environment in this store is oppressive aggressive itās been like this for a while now at least a few years itās never been like that before like I said Iāve shopped in this store since I moved to Lexington and itās never been like this the best food lion is the one on cotton grove the atmosphere is light and friendly plus it has...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI will drive the extra 10 minutes to go to the Cotton Grove Rd. location. This store needs an employee makeover. Everyone is always so rude and looks like they hate their lives. Even the managers are awful. They donāt even use manners. The meat department lady (heavyset, glasses, short gray hair) didnāt even say excuse me when she literally started stocking directly in front of where I was grabbing food. I said excuse me and she didnāt even acknowledge I existed. Same with the scanning/tag lady. Always has her jacket on. Highlighted hair in a ponytail. Kinda chubby. Darting from aisle to aisle not caring about who she runs into. Again, no āIām sorryā or āexcuse meā. And when I say it she just keeps going. Next time Iāll just run over her and maybe sheāll get the hint to be a nicer person. And the short little manager with long brown hair always has a stick up her butt. They are all awful. I go into the other locations, especially cotton grove rd and forest hill and they are SUPER nice and polite. Ready to help, good attitudes. This store is always this way. Awful. Drive the extra. Itās worth the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am not someone who typically shares negative experiences, but I have to share the experience of my family who were trying use the services at western union and were told by the employee āthe manager said we are not allowed to serve your family āā¦. This is a completely discriminatory interaction- my family are Muslim legal immigrants. To refuse service to protected classes is illegal and inhumane. David was the manager referenced last night and itās deeply concerning that Food Lion feels the need to dictate services for another company thatās whole business model is to serve the international community. This is not the first discrimination incident at this store, but this interaction has gone too far. Completely embarrassing behavior of food lion employees to exhibit racist and...
