I see they changed the name of the restaurant I wonder if it’s bc of all the negative reviews, guess I’ll repost my review since it’s still the same restaurant just a different name.
Our server Jose (buff tattooed guy) honestly took away from my families experience. It was our first time and was recommended by someone. First impression is “wow this place is beautiful “ the atmosphere is something you would definitely find in a major city like Charlotte. I had high expectations being that the inside looked so luxurious. I asked our server “if they served aguas frescas “ and all he said was “yes” and continued to look at me with an annoyed look on his face so I asked “well what are they ? “ usually Mexican restaurants tells you what type of aguas frescas they have once you ask if they have any. That was only the first off putting interaction we had with him, when he came back to take our order he just held his hand out after each person finished with their order not even asking for the menus just held his hand out like if we knew what he wanted, at one point he even said “the menu” while someone was in the middle of ordering. Just not friendly whatsoever, we felt rushed, he never refilled our drinks and just got a bad vibe off of him even my mother in law caught on to it. The California burritos don’t even come with cheese dip on top you have to separately order queso for almost 6 dollars for a regular size so for for 2 California burritos , a regular cheese dip, 1 soda , a flan and 2 alcoholic beverages it came out to 90$ not including tip. I will not be going back to this place, it might look nice on the inside but the waiter was rude and you can find better Mexican food down the street at mi casa or even don Juan’s (and I don’t even...
Read moreTried this place today for lunch and had an overall good experience. We had the veggie fajitas to share, table side guac, and a sweet tea. The vegetables for the fajitas were cooked well. The fajitas contained tomatoes, broccoli, onions and squash. I do wish that they had put mushrooms in the mix. We ordered corn tortillas and they bought flour which was fine, I didn’t asked them to be switched out. The rice was dry and the beans were average. The chips were fantastic and when I say they were some of the best chips I’ve had I mean that. The chips had some kind of like salt on them and were the perfect texture and crunch. The table guac was amazing. We chose to have ours made without the jalapeños and it was perfect. The sweet tea was excellent. This place had great service. Someone walked by our table constantly to check on us. Our drinks never even got halfway because they kept them filled up. The decor was fun. I loved the teal and purple. I did think the portions were small for the price. That is the reason I gave 4 stars. I would go back just for the tea, chips and guac! Thanks for a great...
Read moreTonight was awful. I’ve eaten here before and it was amazing. But tonight omg it was so rough. We waited a while for food and one of our orders was wrong 3 times and most of us had finished before the last plate hit the table all because the waiter we had struggled with English and it seemed like he was afraid to ask clarifying questions. The one waiter that spoke good English was tore 100 directions being the only one able to translate. We weren’t impolite or anything but there was such a weird vibe. There was a lingering sewage smell that made the waiting seem like forever. We were charged for drinks we didn’t order but it took 15 mins to get the check and talking to the waiters was so difficult that we just paid it and left. To the defense of the waitstaff they were understaffed but it takes more time to correct a mistake than to just ask clarifying questions and get it right. We will not be going back. I’m so upset because it was so good the first time but I really think this...
