1.0 star rating I went in to St. John and Myers to sell jewelry that had belonged to my father and stepmother who have both passed away years ago. My immediate family has been going through a difficult time the last few months. My husband was recently in the hospital and he has to return for a scheduled bypass surgery. My middle daughter and her husband are expecting their first child. My daughter cannot take her daily medication for an existing condition because it can harm the baby. I thought that by selling the jewelry, it would take a bit of pressure financially, off my family at this difficult time. I left the showroom on 1/25/17 at 4:45 PM. At 10:00 AM the next morning (1/26/17) I called the store and spoke to Ethan and said I made a mistake and that I wanted to please get the jewelry back. The jewelry was the last connection I had to my father and stepmother. I was literally sick over it the entire night before. I have since called the store more than a dozen times asking when I can pick up my jewelry. All I was ever told when I called and spoke to Louis or his staff were contradicting stories, excuses and stall tactics. I sold the owner close to 30 pieces of jewelry. A few diamond rings, earrings, bracelets, and some items that would be used for scrap gold. It is now more than one week since I have begged for my merchandise back. I have not received one piece of jewelry back and I have not cashed the check they have given me either. Clearly, Louis Scholz, the owner and the person I did my transaction with felt that the profit he would make on my jewelry was all that mattered. My advice to you is if you are looking for a place to either buy or sell jewelry, run as fast as you can away from St. John and Myers. My story will not end here. I am going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, the District Attorney's Office, and the Attorney General's office . My hope is that no one else has to go through the heartache that I am currently going...
Read moreDear Olivia,
You and the team at St. John & Myers saved the day for me. You made me a hero with my wife of 38 years, so it looks like we'll make it to at least 39.
The best part was how quickly you were able to help me. Even though I'm located in Salt Lake City, well over a thousand miles away from you, and I didn't even begin talking to you about this until past 2p.m. your time, the day before Valentines Day, you were able to determine the kinds of things my wife might like, show me a variety of them using pictures you sent me by email, and help me make just the right selection.
Then you really went to work, providing "beyond the call of duty service" by neatly packing up my purchase, including a gift bag and packaging, even thinking of supplying a gift card, since I was too dumb to get a Valentine's card, and get it all out and over to me via FedEx, to arrive, neatly timed in the morning with complete instructions for me on how to present the present to my sweetheart.
She loved the choice. It was the perfect fit for her current jewelry wardrobe and like I said, I got elevated to "Knight in Shining Armour" status.
Lots of fun… lots of romance… looking forward to our Valentine's evening.
Thanks, so much, once again to all of you at St. John & Meyers. A guy can't go wrong having you in his corner!
Success, Jim Ackerman Salt...
Read moreThis will be a long review, so bear with me folks. First off you have to make an appointment online, which I did. I got there a bit early and there was a customer there so I browsed around the store. My first thought was, this guy likes to hear himself talk. They finally wrapped up and upon leaving he begged for a 5 star review. He came over to me and asked how he could help and I advised I had an appointment and he then asked for what. All of the information had to be put in the online appt, so that took me back. I had my great grandmothers engagement ring from around 1870 or so and wanted a value and to possibly sell. He started of by identifying the stones (which were way wrong) and then proceeded to go into a diatribe of how the ring came to be and ended up as it was, which was nowhere close to reality. You see I had already had the ring appraised by a reputable jeweler and knew exactly what the stones were. I also knew the history of the ring. He ended up by saying it was worth about $150.00. I thanked him for his time and got up to leave at which point he begged for a 5 star review. I said sure and left. Now I do not like leaving bad reviews, but in this instance, I believe it is necessary. Just be aware that what you see or hear isn't always...
