Update March, 2020: While I've enjoyed Gatti for 20 years or more, it has gone down hill quite a bit for my taste. I understand it's a all you can eat and I'm not expecting the same thing I do from Malone's.
First problem is the gradual increase in price. It's almost $20 for 2 adults now, which, if I couldn't hold a good amount of pizza, wouldn't really be worth the price compared to Papa or any specials from others. Considering you get some variety, it's worth extra and if you can hold several plates, it's worth something.
Biggest problem I have is how long they want to leave cold pizza on the bar. If you don't hit it when there's a heavy crowd, be sure you enjoy cold to luke-warm pizza. I've sat there for 30 minutes several times waiting for anything (and I mean anything) fresh to come out. They'll wait till the very last slice is gone and the backup pizza sitting under the counter starts getting cold before they will replace. I'm guessing mom told them to clean you plate because they sure won't waste a single slice. I've watched them even take the cold leftovers and put in the new pan. I understand this is a buffet, but come on.
And for tonight's visit, which prompted my updated review. I was an hour or two before closing and it was a very thin crowd. Of course the pizza was cold and even though I could see them with more sitting in the kitchen, they were not going to budge on offering anything warm. I settled on the cold pizza until I noticed they were cleaning early. The problem I noticed was, with cold pizza sitting in the pans, they were cleaning underneath the glass overhangs (the shield over the pizza). Complete with sprays and cloth. In case you can't visualize, think about they spray and whatever is under that glass falling all over the pizza. Rather disgusting. So not only do you have to eat that last slice of cold pizza, you get some extra toppings at no charge!
I left. I have no plans on returning until it looks like new ownership/management.
Original: Food is really good. Fun to watch a movie while eating out. Buffet isn't always kept fresh and hot. Best to go when there's a crowd so the food is turned over more often. Good...
Read moreWe are from Michigan and decided to go here while visiting our friends, who are Lexington locals. (They are GattiTown experts and decided to initate us into the GattiTown world. We are glad they did. -- They are also now, incidentally, our two youngest, who were on the trip with us, favorite people.) For those have been to Chuck-e-Cheese, GattiTown is like Chuck-e-Cheese on Steroids. They have everything and then some. My kids could have spent a week here, and not been bored. The 4 of us adults were even having a good time! You could spend hours, or simply an hour, here. Whatever you want. Go for dinner. Go to play. Go for both. Whatever you want. (Taking kids with you is optional.) The food is separate from the fun. You cannot take your food or drink into the play area with you. Once in the play area you buy a credit card with your time limit on it. (Play for an hour and it expires in an hour.) You can buy a package for just the games, or one that includes the games that gives you tickets. Im guessing that one must also do the picture type machines. We did not do that one. Our 6-year-old son mainly wanted to do bumper cars anyway and our 12-year-old daughter could have cared less about the 2 cent rewards. (BTW the bounce houses were free.) There were things for everyone of all age and sizes. All of us were enjoying ourselves and having a blast. It's fairly dark in there with the fun. Lots of colorful led lights though. They have several skee ball machines, different size basketball net games, dance mania games, they even have a 4-way air hockey table. They have piano tiles, a shooting range, and every game you can imagine. The restaurant may be just as big as the play area. There are different places you can eat. Movie theaters where you can sit down and watch a movie with your dinner or just a diner. It's buffet style. All sorts of salads and pastas and pizzas and breads and desserts, and more drink selections than you knew existed. You will need to be rolled into the play area and if you don't spend a few hours running around burning off all the calories you just ingested, you will need to be rolled out of GattiTown. Well worth the visit. You...
Read moreI come in to this place a lot and have a great time with my family. I came in and everything was going wonderfully until I met Ryan. Ryan was working the game floor (skinny, white ,brunette man) and he was in charge of running the rides. As we walked over to the frog drop ride he immediately walked away. The ride has a push for service button so we pushed the button. He walks back over huffing and puffing. He tells me my 2 free rides (included in my package) were not on the card. I asked if we could walk to the front and scan the card to check. Instead of checking he let my son get on the ride after throwing his hands up in disbelief and opening the gate. My 4 year old son says “ I don’t know if I like this ride.” And Ryan says “ Do you not want to ride it then,” in the most hateful tone I have ever heard anyone speak to my son. My son told him he would like to ride still and Ryan shrugged his shoulders and began the ride. I told Ryan that I thought he had a horrible attitude and shouldn’t speak to children or customers the way he did. I asked Ryan for his name so I could speak to a manager and leave a review. He told me at this point, “ Oh, He would show me a manager, No problem. ” All while smiling like he hadn’t really upset someone and their child. The manager showed me the issue with my card and gave me a $10 credit for my issue with Ryan but I don’t think anyone should have to experience this here. Edit: It’s been a couple hours since the incident and reflecting back at how much I expressed how his words and actions towards me and my son really affected me, I feel as if more should have been done by management rather than just telling us he would be “talked to.” I go 2-3 times a week as this is my kids favorite daytime activity. We came on Sunday at 11am and he was the man who opened the door for customers and was extremely unpleasant that day aswell. Laughing and smiling in not only a customer’s face but a mother who has told you they are upset with the treatment of their child ( to the point of tears and shaking) seems extremely...
