While the atmosphere could use a major upgrade, the food is not so bad, considering you're in Lexington, Kentucky of all places. They do an excellent job with all the curries. Beware. When you ask for an "Indian Hot" spice level, you'll get exactly what you're asking for, which I can certainly appreciate. As a vegetarian, I love, love, LOVE their Paneer Tikka Masala - Indian cottage cheese like cooked in a creamy, thick, tomato gravy. This is my go to here. All their curries come with rice, which always appears to be undercooked therefore, I am obligated to place an order of garlic Naan (Indian spiced bread). Naan is good and smeared with a thin layer of butter, with plentiful of minced garlic and cilantro. Prices are pretty steep. For my paneer curry dish and an order of Naan, were looking at Jackson ($20), plus a tip. If you're going family style and looking for a good, sharable vegetarian appetizer, the vegetable pakorda are a must. They are thinly sliced, Indian breaded vegetables, deep fried and seasoned. Overall, my take is pretty much summarized in the first sentence of this review. Amazing food but the atmosphere and ambiance may be better...

The employees are only interested to serve American. It seems they are not interested for Indian or any desi people. It's very surprising to see that they are only clearing plates for Americans not for Indian people. The sering girls are so shamless.....rude in behavior.one new girl with fair complexionand a boy serve properly and gently... But other serving girls are keep influencing her not to do much for our table as we are Indian and may be they will not get much tips from us .... The buffet is from 12-3 pm but they wrapped it by 2:30 pm. When we asked for desert they said they threw it all. Few seconds later all the employees start to eat food with desert in front of us..... This kind of shameless behavior if you want to experience after spending $70???????

Please don't refer any of your foreign colleagues to go there. This peoples behavior making our country's name bad..... They are not properly refilling food or heating food ....I feel those gang of girls waiter saving foods for...

Please Go If you are only American, Chinese or anyone apart from True Indian(native Indian)… It’s not for us guys… one of the Tasteless, Blend food I ever had in my life, literally the food taste was Mildestttttt ever. It’s not a true authentic Indian cuisine… Its a mild authentic Indian restaurant…😂 But if you are American, chinese or anyone you would increase love towards Indian food, this is the best food for you guys… You can know how Indians eat cooked food and tasty food instead of Uncooked, medium cooked and tasteless food…

I thought only spicy was mild, no I am wrong, the deserts were also mild sweet. oh no, this is not for Indians at all, who want to good Indian food…

Tbh The best thing i had that day was Pepsi…coz they dont have coke and especially ThumsUp (Indian version of coke)…

Hope some Indian may read this and wont go to this restaurant… and American...

Good service and great food. I ordered the Lamb Korma and it was as tasty as it was aromatic. Thank you Covid for taking away the joy of having an Indian lunch buffet, you spared my waistline but took away the pleasure in tasting a variety of dishes. I hope life resumes back to normal soon and I hope the local community in Lexington gets out and supports your wonderful local restaurants. Visit these businesses, they need your patronage to survive these times. Taste of India is a wonderful establishment and you will not regret going. The naan was delicious and the mango lasso was a pure refreshing delight.

Update: Lunch buffet (killed by COVID like so many other buffets) is back! Their makhni is awesome, but I think their coriander chicken has won my heart (or stomach--or, tongue?). Prices are reasonable for such high quality. Lexington has four or five Indian choices, but Taste of India is the best. P.S. How did I not know they had coconut shrimp curry? I don't know how to taste these delectable choices, but my top three are coriander chicken, paneer makhni, and the above newfound love. Oh, and I ask for extra dried fruit in the peshwari naan. Excellent.
