Staples — Local services in Lexington

My review is also about the printing station. I needed 2 coil-bound booklets done today and they wanted me to drop it off and come get it later. I said no and went to Fedex Office. It took Fedex 5 minutes and out the door. I don't know why I continue to go to staples for anything "that day". Staples will say they were busy but they weren't. It's more a policy shift that they do nothing on that day. In the past, they would just get it done. You waited 10-15 minutes and walked the store. This also encouraged additional purchases as I am 90% sure I would buy something else. I am also tired of the over-priced toner....and they coupon you back with a bounce-back. I'm done with that game too. I just buy online and don't play their rewards bounce-back coupons. I've wasted $200-300 because they expire and I never get it redeemed. And this is the purpose. But naturally, it only takes so long until the customer gets fed up and says no more. And that is what has happened with me and toner/staples. Also, if your printing department is slammed, good news, you get to hire more people! But I am telling you now, this is not the case.....it is a shift in management. Maybe Fedex was $1 more on the coil-bound copy but what is my time...

Don't come here if you need something done in any sort of reasonable time. Management gives you an attitude when they can't back up their own deadlines and blame staff shortages. There isn't even so much as a common courtesy call if things aren't competed on time.

With two employees standing behind the print counter, both are surrounded by literal piles of work and are just casually having a conversation with each other instead of getting things done.

Unfortunately, unless you get nasty and rude with them, nothing gets done in any sort of reasonable time.

I was told that cutting some postcards would take several hours when I had already given them an extra 16 hours past the time they should have been ready to pick up.

They relented to a few minutes after I reminded them that their staffing issues were not mine nor any of their customers concerns.

I want to publicly thank Melissa and all of the employees at the Staples on Harrodsburg Road. I have had numerous work related printing jobs done through them, so I trusted them with printing my wedding invitations when other higher end print shops in Lexington weren't able to print on the cards that I had supplied. Melissa is ALWAYS prompt, MORE THAN helpful, and she is such a great person to work with. She worked really hard on getting the formatting of my invitations and RSVP cards just right, and making sure that the print quality was perfect. Thank you SO MUCH, staples!
