I walked into the salon on a Saturday and asked the owner, Nancy, if I could get a pedicure. She abruptly shouted, āWe are busy.ā I calmly asked if there was a time I could come back, but she repeated, āWe are busy,ā in the same tone. Eventually, she told me to return at 2:00 PM. I left feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable with how I was spoken to and treated.
This wasnāt my first time at the salon. On a previous visit, Nancy pressured me into leaving a Google review while I was still there, which felt inappropriate. Iāve also observed her being short and combative with other customers, which seems to be a pattern.
If the salon is struggling to manage walk-ins, I believe it would be better for them to switch to appointment-only and direct customers to book online. Itās clear the current setup isnāt working smoothly, and the staff seems overwhelmed.
Nancy could also benefit from customer service trainingābasic courtesies like greeting clients warmly and treating them with respect make a huge difference. Additionally, the pressure to leave large tips in cash and give them directly to her is uncomfortable and unprofessional.
Unfortunately, I wonāt be returning. When I treat myself to a spa day, I want it to be relaxing and pleasant, not stressful or awkward. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as there is potential for a better customer experience with a few important changes. Response to Elaine Nail Spa statement following my post:
Unfortunately, this response aligns with the customer combative behavior I mentioned earlier. You did not explain that you could not accommodate walk-ins; instead, you repeatedly shouted, "We're busy," which is rude to a potential customer standing in front of your store. As I expressed earlier, on weekends, you really should not accept walk-ins because you do not have the staff to handle that kind of business. I strongly believe your customers would be more willing to book online on weekends. This change would make your business more efficient and provide a better customer experience.
The salon is not loud when you are standing less than three feet away from a potential customer. Additionally, I have never been asked to tip in cash as much as I have in your business.
My review is not misinformation; it reflects an accurate account of my experience when visiting your shop. More importantly, I have unfortunately witnessed customer combative behavior nearly every time I visit your nail salon. If you are not willing to change and take this feedback constructively, I can see this behavior ultimately being detrimental to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUPDATED REVIEW: I went here the day before my friends wedding to get my nails and toes done. There is a man in here with glasses that did my toes. He seemed okay during this service and I did not have an issue. We get to my nails and he is laying the acrylic on so sloppy. I mean bumps & lumps of acrylic and some of the top corners were missed as well as by my cuticle there was no acrylic laid. I asked him when he got done with that hand about the foundation and in a nice low tone & he did not like that. He tried to reassure me that he would file them etc and I was trying to communicate that there were spots with no acrylic on them & that filing would not help that. He wasnāt getting it. So I said excuse me to the owner & asked her to check the foundation. She tries to tell me the same thing but without really even looking at the job he had done. It was awful. Long story short he scoffs at me, pushes away from the table, begins to get loud a/b how I donāt like the way heās doing it and then heās nearly yelling. The owner stands by for most of it barely saying much to him & when she did he ignored her & continued to argue with himself as I was just trying to understand why he was so upset over a question? Then I tell the owner that she canāt allow this type of behavior to happen she gets loud telling me to calm down when Iām not the one yelling. I ask her to get the acrylic off my nails & that Iāll just leave & update my review.
Another tech name Lida came over to help me & she convinced me to stay and that she would fix my nails. She added more acrilyc to my nails & did my left hand flawlessly. She even said that what he did happens all of the time! Why the owner refuses to protect her customers I do not know. That man cannot do nails and thatās okay he can stick to toes & practice until he can. She seems scared to speak up herself and thatās a shame. Had I not had a wedding to go that night in cincy I would have left right then. I was crying and shaking bc Iāve never been yelled at by a man like that before. As the owner you just could have handled that much better & maybe try to appear more empathetic. Lida, I hope you enjoyed that $20 tip, find somewhere else to work.. you are amazing & shouldnāt have to clean up other peoples mistakes. I appreciate you holding my hands while I cried. Iām just a mom who was super busy and already having a bad day that just wanted some self care. Sad bc I thought it was a nice place but Iāll find...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo I havenāt been back for a couple months because the man that did my pedicure and nails was horrible!! I explained to him while getting my pedicure that I havenāt had one for a long time I work a lot. He just kept saying thatās too much thatās too much as he was clipping my cuticles I got red polish and I didnāt notice so much while I was there, but when I got home, they were not looking good, he did not paint my toes all the way I had white area at the top of all my toes. It was not pretty. I proceeded to sit in his chair to get my gel manicure done. I was not getting a dark color however he then continued to say thatās too much thatās too much talking about my cuticles on my hands , I do not know why but my cuticles do grow fast and even if I only go two weeks itās a lot. I felt so bad however I let him paint my fingernails and I also tipped him 20%. Yeah meanwhile the owner of the salon wow thatās what Iāve been told Was sitting there with him. He was telling me too much too much and talking in his language to this guy and laughing the whole time if he wouldnāt have started painting already, I wouldāve gotten up paid for what services I had had and left they made me feel so bad , the only reason I came back was because Iām now finding out her name was Nancy she removed nails from my fingers did me a A manicure and they were amazing, so why was I to think that whoever else did my nails in the salon would not be amazing this is the reason I have not been back and I will never return! Person made me feel so horrible on...
