El Asadero Mexican Bar &Grill — Restaurant in Liberty Township

I’m not a person to say to not try an establishment but this place by far has ruined my experience to even try the other location.We did get served chips in the beginning. 30 minutes rolls by me and my friend were asked if we wanted drinks so we got the same drink. My friend got hers but I didn’t get mines and it was the exact same they said “my mistake” finally got mines both of ours looked entirely different. We went ahead and ordered and got the same exact thing about a hour goes by our food arrives and it’s not the same at all we had two separate meals. My friend gave me hers and requested the right order upon cutting into a filet mignon it was not the right cut of meat and it was tough with no flavor so we both just requested something else another hour rolls by we finally got our food and the manager was very sassy with us when we took a look at the bill and the food that wasn’t ours and the food that wasn’t to our liking was on there. We asked to make it right and he was very argumentative about a soft drink that a waiter accidentally put on our bill and we were not about to pay until 45 minutes later we were there for almost 3 hours. The restaurant is trying too hard to be a fun party place and it’s making the food suffer. The drinks are amazing so I’m giving 2 stars for that. The food is a 0 star. The food tastes very bland and seems like cheap ingredients. My beans tasted like someone cooked them in an old dirty pan or maybe even burned them and scraped off the burnt bits. My food was cold as well. My husband’s food tasted like it was overly saturated with lime so disguise the cheap frozen taste of the food. He couldn’t eat half of his food because he was grossed out. I did have my food replaced with birria fries but I couldn’t eat them because the birria tasted super off and I received more chunks of fat than I did actual meat. I never say don’t try a place. And I won’t do that to this establishment. However here are some things we didn’t love. I asked for a skinny margarita because I don’t like margarita mix. It’s all corn syrup. But honestly the margarita I was served was totally mix and not the hi end tequila I asked for and paid for. I ordered a pick your own combo with one crunchy taco, one enchilada and no beans. It took 3 tries for them to get it correct. Our first basket of chips was stale. They brought another basket and it was fine. My husband’s dinner was fine and mine was good once it came out correctly, I wouldn’t say the food was great but it was ok. For two of us it was $90.
