Update: 7/17 - Decided to take another trip over to Azteca Grill. This has been our 3rd visit and I have to say that the service has been consistently amazing every time we've gone. All of the servers we've sat with has been amazing to us and embraced the our entire family. They've been welcoming and attentive. Onto the food, I like to get different things all the time. I also try to eat higher protein and lower fat. I ask for customizations everytime and they have no question about doing what I request. This recent time my wife got Carnitas and they were the best I've seen for quite some time. The portion was massive and I had to try a bite. It had a crispy exterior and a soft juicy center. Absolutely amazing. I had to add some photos of our recent meal. Took the family to Azteca Grill after a day at the Columbus Zoo, it's just a few minutes down the road. This was not our first trip here but it had been well over 5 years. No particular reason, it was just far enough away that we wouldn't think about it and it was rare that we'd stay at the Zoo until they closed. Our experiences in the past were always good. The ground beef stood out, you don't say that often about any Mexican place. We ordered chimichangas, ground beef tacos, steak tacos, and beef enchiladas. Service was great, playful banter with the server. She was helpful, thoughtful, and respectful. Treat others how you want to be treated, right? The food was wonderful. Tasty and well portioned. Drinks were also very good. My only reason for giving four stars across the board is the need for additional times to go. This time impressed us enough that we are looking forward to coming back. More visits, I will update the review and post more.

Amazing beef tacos. Steak grande burrito was a bit dry, but huge. The molcajete was really impressive, like fajitas on steroids. It can probably feed 2. The fried ice cream left much to be desired, topping tasted chewy rather than crispy, like eating oatmeal pieces with my ice cream. The server was very attentive, almost too much so lol. She kept checking on us as we were taking our time slowly finishing our meal, like they needed the table or something, but the whole restaurant was almost empty on a Sunday evening. There is an outdoor eating area and spacious indoor area too. Lots of tv screens, all tuned to soccer or golf. Tortilla chips and salsa provided for the table, we also got a small dish of queso, which was good, but they didn’t skim off the dried cheese so we got a big lump of it in our bowl.

A few weeks ago, my family, some friends, and I visited Azteca Grill. It is the first time I have gone to a Mexican restaurant on a Sunday around brunch time and they were offering a breakfast/lunch buffet Mexican Style. From Eggs Benedict to Mexican Style Lasagna, I was impressed and pleased with their menu and buffet. I also ordered their Pollo San Mateo, guacamole, and their delicious Margaritas (recommend two). Nice and humorous service. Thank you, Noé. The owner came by and spoke to us. He was welcoming. The decor is that of Mexican American culture combine with comfortable seating and set up. Nice big bar that gives a nice view of the restaurant. You may dine in or in their outdoor patio (preference and weather permitting). Parking spaces just walking distance to the restaurant. Decent prices.

I am responding to the few very poor reviews here……

This is your standard family-friendly local gathering place. We have been coming for years and have always returned. If we ever had an issue, we politely shared and were always respected and it was quickly rectified. Mind you, this has only been once or twice at most.

The prices are fair. If you don’t know what something costs, ASK. Alcohol always drives up the bill. Don’t be surprised. We always enjoy the frozen margaritas.

Speaking of alcohol, if you look under age, they have every right to ask for an ID. If you are still refused, most likely the authenticity of your ID is in question. It is totally unfair for you to publicly bash an establishment for doing their due-diligence in order to maintain their liquor license. You should simply go somewhere else quietly and try again.

Yes, the plates are very hot. This is what makes your entree hot and pleasing. The fact that the plate is brought by a server wearing a mitt is clue enough that you should use caution. If you have a child, it’s your job to help them be careful, not the server’s.

Manny and his staff work very hard. No one is perfect, but they don’t read minds.

If you are looking for good food, a family atmosphere, and a staff that enjoy what they do and would love to see you return, Azteca is the place...

We went here today for the Sunday brunch for the first time. It's $25 a person and that includes you're not alcoholic beverage. They had a few lunch items such as macaroni and cheese chicken tenders build your own taco bar, and a Carving Station for roast beef, everything else was breakfast. Had a nice waffle bar with lots of toppings. All the food I ate was very good with the exception of the quesadillas. They have clearly been sitting in there for a very long time and I was hoping to get the eggs benedict that was also sitting in the same heated pan, but there were only three in there and they were old and stuck to the bottom of the pan I went back and checked it again before we left for refill, and it was still just the same three ones. I didn't care for the tacos either. I like the build your own taco bar, and I love that you could get chicken instead of beef, but the chicken was very dry and had no flavor. I've never had to salt a taco before and I had to do these. All the other food we tried was delicious! Staff was very nice and we met the owner and he was nice as well. We...
