I came to sell some clothes for the first time (at 8 months pregnant) and I brought along my 3 and 5 year olds. No one was in front of me in line to sell clothes, so they told me I could browse and they'd be done in a few minutes. There are signs up all over the store asking customers not to let their children play with the toys, which is totally understandable, but it was extremely difficult to keep my kids away from the toys when there was nothing else for them to do. Time kept ticking away, and no one had even touched the things I brought in, so after about 20 minutes of the torture of trying to keep my kids away from the toys and being in pain because I have pregnancy complications and can't stand for very long, I went back to the counter and asked if there was a time estimate as to when they'd be done. They told me I was free to leave and come back, but I live 15 minutes away from the store and didn't want to make an extra 30 minute round trip, so that wasn't an option. I didn't have anything else to do in the area either so we just had to wait until they got around to it. While I was waiting for another 10 minutes or so, one of the staff came up to me and started telling me about the deals they were having that day. That bothered me because the deals were clearly marked in multiple places all over the store, so none of the information she was giving me was new. Also, the prices of everything I saw were so high that I know I could get things new for cheaper, or used for a much better deal at Savers, Goodwill, or a garage sale, even without "deals". When they finally finished going through my things, they offered me only $28 for my 24 items (nice, designer items)--so about $1 for each item, which by looking at the clothes they had on racks, they were going to resell for about $10 to $15 each. I would totally recommend Once Upon a Child over Wild Child, both for buying and for selling. Better prices and they offer you more for your clothes. Wild Child was a huge...
Read moreI am so impressed with the amount of customer service I have been offered on multiple occasions!
Braley was very helpful while looking for shoes for my son and daughter for fall pictures. She was willing to make accommodations to make my shopping experience easier and memorable.
Brittany helped me search high and low for some black booties for my daughter. I had a specific style in mind and she reached out to the Lee Summit store. I received a few pictures from the Lees Summit store.
Karla was doing a great job multitasking Saturday morning! Assisting guest and getting everyone checked in who were selling clothes. I dropped my clothes off and saw some dinosaur pajamas my sons would love. She helped secure them behind the counter without my son seeing so I could come back and get them when I came to pick up my clothes drop off order.
Ivy took my phone call Saturday night at close when I realized I forgot to get the pajamas for my son and there was a cardigan I wanted for my daughter. She confirmed the pj's were still behind the counter and extended the hold date for me and went out on the floor to find the cardigan I wanted to add to the hold.
Overall, I am thankful for the level of service all of these girls provided for me. Their manager did a great job hiring and training!
I am a very happy customer and look forward to more shopping experiences...
Read moreEdited: wow! I am extremely taken aback by the management of this location, in the best way possible. Within an hour of my review of this experience, the manager called to apologize and offer ways to make the situation better. She took my feedback very well and I believe her when she says she will try to make sure this doesn’t happen again. Thank you for your help and willingness to try and change a negative experience.
I have been buying and selling at this location for a very long time, but recently had a very bad experience that encouraged me to never come back again. I went to sell and was greeted very rudely by a worker near the clothing in the front. When I got to the selling counter, I waited for almost 5 minutes for someone to come to the counter. I saw the employees chatting with each other while I was waiting. Then I was told the selling counter was closed, even though I came during the normal selling hours. Everyone who works here is either in high school or college, and they are very chatty with each other when they should be helping customers. This is not the first time I’ve had this experience, but it will...
