So, with our own centerpieces, the venue looked very pretty. However, the linens provided were all stained and dirty. The table cloths covering the cookie table had dead bugs on them. We had to shake them out and flip them over to use them. Although there are white chairs in photos of outdoor weddings, the chairs, they provide are old, black, and beat up and dirty. It was disgraceful. Carson’s is the worst for catering. The staff was completely inept. The bartenders refused to tap our two kegs of beer and they opened 24 bottles of wine at once all of which went to waste. We got no money back on the beer from the distributor. they did not serve the wedding cake that we spent a fortune on. We were told they would refill the cookie table and yet I, mother of the groom and some relatives. Had to continuously refill it because they didn’t have enough staff there to adequately serve this wedding. The food was mediocre at best and you’re stuck using Carson‘s because of their agreement with the venue owner. We were told we could use the venue for the rehearsal dinner Friday night, but in reality we had to rent a second venue because there was no way for them to have the tables set up and then reset for the next day. None of the staff showed up until 2 o’clock for a 4 o’clock wedding and we were missing napkins from four tables, the 18th table and dishes and silverware that we had requested,, a cake table. Literally family members were scrambling all over the building, trying to get what we needed and get it set up on time. There are plenty of other barn type venues, folks. Look elsewhere. There are plenty of other foreign type venues folks....
Read moreBe warned there is NO communication. They falsely advertise an event coordinator for your day but what you get is actually a catering coordinator (two different jobs). At the end of the wedding the catering coordinator asked me for a tip. There was a 21% gratuity on the final invoice and they never let me know where that went to when I asked. The seating/set up chart I received was NOT how it was set up the day of. There was a wedding the day before mine and we had to intrude on them to have our rehearsal which was unfair to them (I just hope their wedding turned out better than ours). The ceremony site was left over from the day before and a complete mess we had to realign the chairs ourselves. If you take Tim up on officiating he might decide to back out last minute and not tell you and have someone else do it who let's their phone ring during the ceremony and NEVER turn in your marriage license until you get a state representative involved. Their response was a $500 refund which I did receive but for the amount of stress they put me under on my wedding day that I shouldn't of had to deal with is unacceptable. I won't recommend this venue or the catering. The food was good but I do not want to support any businesses owned by Carson's...
Read moreI did a wedding here as the makeup and hair artist. The bride was stressed because the coordinator she was supposed to have did not answer her the whole wedding day. She had to get the groom to call the owner, who was also the officiant.
The venue part where you dance and eat looked was beautiful. I noticed the edges of the (small-ish) dance floor were coming up, and I would be worried about it snagging someone's dress.
The back rooms looked incredibly run down. I'm sure there are a lot of bookings for this place since it's in a beautiful town. The sheers on the windows didn't go he full way down, and looked like they were from dollar tree. There were a few dead bugs on the windowsills in the "suite" where the bride could get ready. There were some pea soup green, orange, and yellow striped couches (I'm assuming for brides to take a few pics on?) That were looking very drab for this type of setting.
I find the venue disorganized and rundown, could use some updates and cleaning & maybe some better organization.
The caterer's we're very kind and did a beautiful job (I'm not sure if they're Included...
