Don't go here unless you go overnight. The lady that worked overnight into Sunday morning was great! We had a plan and she is very intelligent. She checked my battery then told me to see if it will take a charge. I told her I would come back in a few hours bc I was tired and it was like 6/7 early in the morning. I come back around 7 p.m. And I go into the store and the older Hispanic guy not the manager but the other one yells at me in a really boisterous voice after I asked if he could simply charge my battery and he goes well do you have the battery bc we do not take it out for you. First off I'm a girl and I don't keep those tools in my car, and second of all he was really rude like I am suppose to know to bring the battery in the store? So after I go back to my car, I saw the older black guy and I asked him for a tool so I can get my battery out and he said no I will take it out for you. I said thank you. Then he takes it out hooks it to the computer and he explains to me that if it's bad then it will tell me right off the back if not you can come back in 30-45 minutes. He comes back and tells me it's charging. So I leave and come back after 30 minutes. The Hispanic guy from earlier I told him I was there to retrieve my battery and he comes back and tells me it didn't take a charge. So at this point I was confused. I would not of left in the first place if it wasn't taking a charge. So I simply asked if he could put it back in my car. He tells some other guy to put the battery in my car and tells the manager oh it's a dead battery and she wants it back in her car. It's her problem not ours. And I told him he didn't have to say all that. He could of simply asked the guy to put it in and talked about me once I left the store. Can't get mad bc I want the battery back in my car. Maybe if they weren't so rude then I would of came back and bought a battery from them but they do not have good customer service skills. The guy that actually took the battery out my car even though I didn't ask he went out his way and I appreciate that. The lady that tested my battery early Sunday morning had great customer skills and I appreciate that. But the manager just seems so bothered with everyone that comes in and the other Hispanic guy. I will not be coming back to that auto zone unless it's overnight. They need to go to some type of customer service training. I don't know how that store still exists better yet 24 hours. There is definitely some bad apples...
Read moreMy family has always gone to AutoZone for battery replacements and installation and recommended them to me. I have an older vehicle, a 2005 Toyota Camry, that suddenly stopped working on account of the old battery giving out. I found the staff courteous and at least initially the installation process streamlined. I sat in my car as they installed the new battery.
However, after about a week, my car suddenly stopped working again despite the new battery being installed, and after looking, I saw (1) one of the terminal connections had already come off despite being tightened all the way and (2) the battery was missing its hold down bracket that was there the day the new battery was installed. I went to AutoZone again and, while the staff was courteous, they were pretty unhelpful in providing solutions to the issue.
For the terminal connection, they sold me a new terminal ($5) and said to go to a mechanic to have it installed, but after buying and evaluating it at home, I found it was not even compatible with my car's setup. For the hold down kit that they originally failed to reinstall, they gave me a free, generic replacement ($8) that I also brought home and quickly realized it was not compatible with my car.
After doing a few minutes worth of research, it turns out a compatible hold down kit is not sold by AutoZone and so they said there is nothing they could do; getting a new one was $62 from the Toyota dealership, an expense I had no choice but to pay. Furthermore, the terminal issue stemmed from the connection, having been stretched and deformed over the years from previous batteries, being slightly larger in diameter than the battery terminal was. This is apparently very common in older cars, and the solution: cap the terminal with a battery shim to increase the terminal diameter. These shims, which AutoZone sells for ~$4 in their stores, was an easy fix and something I did at home in about 10 minutes, but it was not offered as a solution in my conversations with them.
In summary, I found AutoZone staff to be pretty unhelpful in addressing the terminal issue that I, a non-mechanic, was able to fix after just a few minutes of research. I also have frustrations with AutoZone losing the battery hold down for my car from neglecting to reinstall it initially. Will it keep me from being a customer in the future? No, but next time I will be sure to more closely monitor the...
Read moreDear AutoZone Customer Service, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received at your store. I placed an online order a couple of nights ago and went to the store to pick it up cause i did received a email saying were ready. As someone who uses a cane and has difficulty walking, I requested if my order be brought outside to me, they told me we dont do curve side pick up, i said i know im park at the door now, he told me oh you at the door, you have to come inside to sign the paper, i told im bring it out to sign it, im scare to fall and be a liability for autozone, he said no if you fell you wont be, Unfortunately, the manager refused to accommodate my request and showed a lack of concern for my situation. When I finally managed to get inside the store, despite my difficulty walking and the wet conditions outside, I was informed that the product I ordered was not available i was why said ready on my app, where do you guys have the type of products so i can check my options, he were like somewhere in there did not even point the location, After searching the store myself, holding myself from the racks and the cane, I found the product 6 of them on stock, contrary to what the manager had told me.
This entire experience was not only physically exhausting but also emotionally draining. The manager's dismissive and unhelpful attitude is unacceptable. While I appreciate that he eventually gave me the product for free cause he canceled before i went to search for it, it does not excuse the poor service and lack of empathy I experienced. I hope that you will address this issue to prevent future customers from having similar experiences. Thank you for your attention to...
