This is some of the best al pastor in all of Metro Atlanta, and worth making the drive for if you have the time. You can eat in and it gets crowded at lunch, although most people treat it as a to-go place.
Pretty much everything is good, but honestly, unless I'm craving huevos rancheros or something, I just get a bunch of tacos. These are proper street tacos, not Tex-Mex style. If you call at least 2 hours ahead (or a day ahead), they can accommodate catering trays ("bandejas") that you pick up. Not sure if they actually cater, which I haven't tried.
If you have something more complicated than a substitution ("no onion", "no cilantro") like a food allergy, they are very knowledgeable and happy to help, but you'll need to explain it in Spanish.
(The chips are not celiac safe because they're cooked in the same fryer as the sopapilla and torta, but the tacos are all masa and anything that comes with tortillas on the side is safe except the molè, so you don't even have to ask, and if you're reading this far, you already know to look for this...
Read moreThis has been my favorite Mexican restaurant from 2006 to today. I used to have to goto Doraville but now there's one by my home. This location is usually well maintained and clean as long as it's not peak busy hr. The food has been pretty consistently good until today. The aqua Fresca was watered down, the enchilada sauce was off, and the barbacoa tacos tasted like they rinsed it in water before serving it to me.
It was a slightly different staff and 2 people who looked like managers kept grinning and the tall light skinned one literally talked over me to the person behind me while I was telling them about these concerns. She had a mischievous smirk on her face the entire time. I guess they're doing well enough to start discriminating against customers. Right after covid I had experienced a LOT of discrimination from Latino establishments but it had gotten better. Today was a reminder that it...
Read moreI placed an order for a cheese dip and didn’t receive any chips with my order. There was no option to add chips to my order so I assumed chips came with the cheese dip. I have never ordered from a Mexican restaurant where chips did not come with a cheese dip or didn’t have the option to order chips. This is absurd. Nothing wrong with food but offering cheese dip with no chips is not good for business. I called the restaurant to make them aware that there is no option to order chips as well with the cheese dip and they stated they were already aware of the fact that you cannot order chips for your cheese dip online. Management should look into this. Next time I will order, else where, from my restaurant where my cheese dip actually comes with chips to dip in...
