Read moreWasn't going to review them but since you texted and asked, I'll oblige. I was in need of a new key fob so I researched Chevy dealerships and decided to order one from Tom Ahl. I've never used them or been there for that matter so this is my first time experience. Receptionist was very kind and explained everything well. Made appt when the key arrived to have it programmed. Waited 2 hours for what I thought would be a 15 min procedure only to be told they were unable to program due to the incompetence of that days programmer. Was told they could come Monday to pick up the truck and take care of it. I was not comfortable with this guy coming to my house or driving my truck for a simple key fob program so I told him I would bring it in Monday and he said that's fine just before 11 preferably. Monday morning at 8am I recieve a call telling me they're there to get my truck and are the keys in it?!! I said no, I told Jason I would bring it in. Apologized and left. Brought it in. They determined the issue was 2 wires in the plug in causing the issue but had no clue what they were for and said they'd have to cut them. Then discovered it was just a connector and was able to pop it off (a connector for the radio I found out later on my own but they had no clue). Get fob programmed and ready to leave, they did take $50 off for my 2 hour wait previously. Jason noticed my sensor was bad in a tire and I said it works occasionally when the opposite one is low. He said he can just reprogram them for free and it'll fix it. He did, but nothing was showing now I noticed as I pull out. Having a young child with me and considering the service I had already I just wanted gone. I thought it was just learning them and upon restart it would be fixed. Two days later still no tire reading on any. Took to tire store and they said I now need all 4 sensors replaced because of what Tom Ahl's guy did. So now they're costing me $200 because of their service. Would not recommend...
I chose to go with a certified dealer to have peace of mind. Thinking they were ASE certified for my car, (impalla). I had front end damage that they were going to fix. The amount was north of $4,500. Was told to come pick up my car that they were done......five weeks they had it. ( I will says there was delays on getting parts not totally their fault). This is were I became upset: old headlight was left in and not replaced. the paint on the hood had contamination in it. plastic clips in various places missing and old worn out one reused. -engine plastic trim piece missing.
Upon reviewing this with the adjuster he said they would correct these issues.
????????? Now wait what??????. This is why I went with a certified dealer. So I wouldn't have to deal with this.
Went to pick up the car from the second time..........the appearance of the hood was still not what one would except of having their car fixed by a certified dealer!!!!!! Once again was told they would wet sand and buff it ......... They would make it right.
Third time I was called to come get my car, it was ready. Now I would think at this point they would have double check over this job and given it a thumbs up before calling me. NOPE. Reception lady handed me my keys, I asked is it ALL THE WORK DONE THIS TIME???? As far as she knew.....she was told to called me to come pick it up.
Walked out and hood had swivels throughout it, Rubbing compound splattered, nick marks on quarter panel from what I could tell when they were wet sanding / buffing .........At this point I said to myself #$@& it . Cut my losses their not able to do the work . Third time in them doing the job over again................
There was in depth conversation on the first time I picked up my car. Reiterated that I was going with them cause I wanted the comfort of a ASE dealership was going to work on my car. Now second guessing myself Wondering if I should have chosen a collision shop...
Read moreI recently took my car in to have the valve cover replaced. I dropped the car off and was informed later that it needed a new coil pack as well and it was also replaced.
When I arrived to pick up the car I could not even make it out of the parking lot because it was misfiring so badly. They took it back in and informed me in about 45 minutes that it was fine now. I asked what happened and supposedly they just took it off and put it back on and it started working which I find hard to believe.
It sounds like it was not installed properly the first time. And come to find out neither was my valve cover.
I drove home and later discovered a puddle of oil on the floor underneath the vehicle and all over the engine compartment, which was recently detailed, so I know it was clean before it was dropped off.
They towed the vehicle back out and assured they would “make it right” which they said I lost 1.5 quarts and checked everything over and it was okay and replaced the gasket that was incorrectly installed and said they would have the detail team clean it up for me.
Well, I picked up the car and they did a piss poor job at “detailing” it. There is still oil in the engine bay and down the side of the car. The worst part is I had to fight with the service manager to get the initial labor refunded. Why should I pay for the labor that installed the parts incorrectly?
At this point, I’m just hoping there is no permanent damage to the engine that isn’t throwing a code yet. And I’m still out the money for the parts.
Edit: See the dealer reply below before reading this part. The general manager did reach out but saying everything was taken care of...
