Nice location with places to eat within walking distance. Next to the 422 off ramp. Their gym was finally renovated with new equipment and dumbells (no bench with free weights or squat rack. There's a benching machine, not a Smith). The pool is open from Memorial to Labor day, guests are charged extra. My skin always broke out in acne or hives after being in the pool but it didn't seem like other tenants were having this issue. The best part about this complex is the maintenance- they're constantly doing outdoor work and if you have a problem they can usually fix it the same day.
But considering all these good things I have to say about the complex it absolutely is not worth how much they charge in rent. I started renting my 2bed/2bath at $1380. I signed a 10 month lease because the monthly payments were cheaper than a years lease. At the time of renewal they increased the price by $80 a month saying "this is a busy time of year, that's why your rent went up so much." except they pretty much conned me into ending my lease when their prices go up. Meanwhile the identical unit next door was being advertised for $1330. I asked "Can I just have the unit next door?" Sure but you'll be charged a relocating fee, a contract termination fee, etc that made it not worth it. I begged them to compromise with my rent, that since the unit next door was over $100/mo cheaper than what they're asking for my unit that if I could just keep my rent the same or have a smaller increase I would be so grateful. Nope. Luckily I got a raise at work so we were still able to afford it. Next renewal period and they want another $80 more per month. Once again I tried to talk them down. Once again the answer was no. I would have to say that in the 2 years I've lived here, there's someone either moving in or moving out at least every month. It's not a place to look into if you want to stay somewhere for a long time. That's a shame... if they would bend a little for their tenants who are always on time with the rent and have no complaints filed against them it would be a great place to live.
Also I read other posts only 6 months before mine saying they're still upholding the "no dog" policy... except someone moved into my building with a friggin pit bull. I wonder when they'll get caught or if they've changed their dog policy recently, but I don't understand how they can be so wishy washy telling someone with a 3 lb dog that they can't bring them, but an 80 lb pitbull is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI just wanted to share my thoughts with you about Walnut Crossing. Walnut Crossing is a beautiful apartment complex. I love everything that Walnut Crossing has to offer. We did a lot of searching and finally found the apartment that best fit us: spacious, great layout, reasonable rent, easy commute to work and local resources. The location is absolutely wonderful. The community is very welcoming and peaceful. However, there's one catch. I canāt bring my dog.
We have an excellent dog, Lilly. She is 3.6 lbs, 1 year old, not barky, 100 percent house trained, and is very good by herself. She has never, ever been an issue anywhere Iāve lived and everyone loves her. She loves children and gets along well with other dogs. I can easily obtain letters from current/past neighbors and veterinarians attesting to her demeanor. Lilly currently stays with my mother. I visit quite often as that is my baby girl. She is not only a dog to me but also a family member, a lot like my child, another life that I am responsible for. It breaks my heart that she cannot come with me to the place that I call Home, A place that should be her home too.
Of course there would have to be guidelines for tenant that have dogs. There could be a weight limit. Perhaps there can be strict dog policies put into place? For example being fined for not picking up their dogs mess, not walking them on a leash, etc. I was wondering if there has been any discussion on the policy for allowing tenants...

I love that it's a quiet, clean area with families. Lots of nice shared grassy area for grilling, gym, pool, and tennis courts. My electric bill is also reasonable (I lived in KOP in a place where my electric bill was almost $200/mo for a 900sqft apartment! And mind you I was trying really hard to keep the AC and heating use to an absolute minimum... ) Maintenance is fast and polite, I never hear neighbors, and I have a fireplace! I love love love living here! I would recommend to anyone.
Update: Been here almost a year now and still love it! Can't wait to renew my lease. I also want to say that the management seems to handled the COVID situation really well. They send out regular updates and keep us informed on what's going with the property and management. Electric and gas bill still have never been more than about $80 but range...
