There is a new owner since the last time we visited about a year ago. Since we live just a few miles away, we're going to have to stop by more often. Same ol' overcrowded and junky atmosphere, but the "junk", aka vintage collectibles and interesting stuff from ages past to fairly current, was fun to peruse. We met one of the owners, and a nicer guy you're never going to meet 😃. He has a spiel going for everyone who comes through the door, telling about the resident player piano and the old pinball machine, and how they work them if anyone wants to play them (for free). Then he lets people know that if they have any questions, to just ask. He asks where people are from, and sticks a pin in that location in one of the world wide maps on the ceiling. Then he shows and tells about how agates found on the beach start out as massive chunks of quartz up in the mountains, deserts, and even old mines, slowly making their way to the ocean. People are then invited to take a small agate from a bowl of them near the cash register. What a fun and pleasant experience, even for jaded locals and frequent visitors to vintage, antique, collectible, and and thrift stores We did find most prices to be on the high side of what we're used to paying for items of similar age and collectibility, but the man was willing to deal, so prices on most things had the potential to be lowered. Finally, as you leave, he says to mention your previous visit to get a 10% discount on your next visit. A thoroughly fun and pleasant experience . Highly recommended! We'll...
Read moreYou name it and this shop has it. Robert(filling in for the owner)greets everyone with a big hello and a smile that lets you know you are welcome here even if just to look. Very knowledgeable about the majority of the items and if he doesn't know he tells you. I asked about WWII literature and he took me straight to the area that held what I was interested in. Copies of National Geographic that spanned the time of the war. Magazines were in good shape and I plan on getting proper coverings to keep them in the good shape I acquired them. On a table next to the shelves that had the Nat Geo's were quite a few soft cover Rockwell's books. One was labeled "Pictures from the Home Front" painted during WWII. My husband's niece and her husband are big fans of Rockwell so I will be sending to her for her birthday this month. I also picked up a couple of Life magazines from the WWII area and 1 Life magazine with articles and pictures of Queen Elizabeth II 's visit to NYC. I then was directed to the back of the building which had some glassware I was interested in and then the gaping began as was overwhelmed with the variety of items. Prices are good as Robert offers and was very pleased with my purchases. Don't think I even seen half of the building and looking forward to another visit. Just a reminder that with the amount of items including glassware small children should not be taken in as would be real easy for something to be broken. I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent at this shop and Robert was a delight...
Read moreTime Capsule Antiques and More is a staple to Lincoln County! If you're touring the coast, make sure to stop in here. I'll tell you why.
Walking in, Robert (who was filling in for the owner) gave us an incredibly welcoming greeting. He has a few fun tricks up his sleeve that I'm not going to spoil here! In the room to the right, there are a few interactive antiques they're happy to let you try, which makes this store very unique.
Also, when my fiance and I were talking about going to a local restaurant called Mazatlan, Robert called ahead to make sure they were doing dine in seating, and even made a reservation for us. Who knew the thrift store came with a concierge?
The store is good sized and has TONS of odds and ends for anyone to enjoy. My fiance enjoyed their diverse coin collection while I browsed their stoneware. The store is willing to barter and give a good deal.
If you like antiquing, this is the place to be! Pack a lunch- you'll be...
