I went into this store which is 1 mile from my house to buy an accent chair. The package was too big for me to carry and I live alone. So the store employee tells me to order online, so it can be delivered. When I try ordering online I donât see a section for delivery instructions which I need to add because itâs a huge building with 3 doors and and intercom panel is only on one door. The store employee told me that the delivery guy would call me and deliver to my apt door. Come day of delivery I havenât received the item, so I call this store. The lady tells me âthat once an item has left our store itâs not our responsibility anymore and you have to call the third party delivery guy directly. Also that their delivery guy does not deliver inside apartment buildings and that I should have read the fine printâ. She goes on to add that itâs not the job of the store employees to know these policies and inform customers correctly about this. I go down and the box is just left next to the building door in the parking lot 4 hrs ago and I did not get any call from the delivery person (which seriously now I have to bring up myself, which is what I was trying to avoid by ordering delivery.) So now I am out 40 bucks for delivery and I have to haul the thing up myself. To add insult to injury, the lady goes on to add that âif you want your delivery fees returned, you can bring the item back to our store and I will refund it to youâ At Home really needs to take stock of what kind of EMPLOYEES and DELIVERY COMPANIES they have and how these people are treating their customers. I clearly cam in carrying a bag (on crutches), grabbed a scooter and went straight to the counter for help.
The attendent started questioning everything and treating me like I was trying to get away with something because I didnt being my receipt. I had already said I wanted to see if they had another set to buy! I finally interrupted her and said (again) ma'am I am not looking for a refund. I want to buy another set. She finally caught on and called someone in back to have them get another set, and I said I would like to look for some other things and again she started acting like I was some criminal. O asked if ahe could just hold the curtains there while I went into the store. She finally said, I guess so. I went in and grabbed a couple kitchen utensils but couldnt even enjoy looking around because of the way she treated me, so I just went to get the new curtains and those two items.
She asked if Infound everything and I politely said no, I couldnt even enjoy myself after the treatment and would haventon come back another time because they had all kinds of new stuff. I get the need to protect the store, but it wasnt busy when I was there and they saw me come in, grab the scooter and go straight to them so there was no need for that treatment.    Read moreNormally we like the @Home store, but not this time. We ordered a picture frame this past week, and had a successful purchase at the Omaha-Lincoln store (located in Omaha). When I contacted the store to ask if theyâd hold our order (which was paid for) till Tuesday bc we couldnât get out there till then (we live an hour away), the guy said of course and put a note on it. That following evening, I got an email that said our order was cancelled and our card not charged. Keep in mind, this was about 4 hrs AFTER I talked with an employee and they said theyâd hold it. There is also a 4 day hold on paid for items, and our order was cancelled only 3 days in. Again, AFTER we got confirmation theyâd hold it longer than the original 4 days. I contacted customer service and they said it was cancelled bc of availability of the product, but then said the store had 7 in stock. Fast forward to today, and I tried to order it again to pick it up tomorrow, and itâs out of stock even though it says âin stockâ on the website. Itâs just been a frustrating roller coaster trying to find this poster frame. Weâre also just annoyed that we were told one thing, had paid for it, and then something different happened. It just seems like it doesnât matter if you order an item, and pay for it, the @Home store will cancel regardless of policy.
