Great experience with this place! Purchasing my camera was perfectly fine. The sales associate (Brett) was knowledgable, friendly, and patient. He actually geared me towards a different camera then what I came in intending to buy because he thought a different option would be better for me. He could have easily just rang up the one I came into buy, had an easy sale, and get me in and out the door quickly, but he took the time to talk to me and find a good fit for me. (And it wasn't him trying to up-sell me either, because the one I came in wanting and the one I ended up purchasing were in the same pricing level). What put my experience over the top was the free camera class they offer with the purchase of a camera. This 2-hour class helps you learn the settings and how to use your camera. Purchasing a nice camera to take pictures is kind of pointless if you don't know how to use it and this class was really informative and helpful (and also taught by the very same sales associate, Brett, who helped me through my initial purchase). I learned so much from this class and it was taught in a very simple way to understand. I'm still learning this camera but I feel WAY better and know what a lot of the different buttons/settings are and what all the different numbers mean! It was also very relaxed and if you had questions at any point you were encouraged to ask right then and there. Brett also encouraged that if any questions came up after the class we were welcome at anytime to come in to get those answered. If you purchase a camera through them, I highly recommend taking advantage of that class!! Lastly, I'll add that their prices are also very competitive, which I didn't expect from a nicer store like this. Out of curiosity, I pulled up the same camera on bestbuy.com and Rockbrook had the better price. Thank...

I've had most of my in-store experiences with Mike or Kim, their knowledge of camera and studio-related equipment is phenomenal and they are almost competitive about sharing the best knowledge for the product. In my experience, "they share because they care" is NOT a sales pitch when asking questions about products or even bringing your equipment to them for help.
I'm an experienced graphic designer with 20 years of experience and almost 3 years ago (with my partner) launched a photography business. At home, we use Canon, at my career we use Nikon and boy are they night and day!! Learning the settings and switching between the two has been a fun challenge.
Over the past few years, I've personally rented lenses, to test out what we like, and really to match the needs of the photo shoot. Mike and Kim graciously help guide to pick their best lens or flash or whatever you need to match the image you with to portray.
Please go check out this store, and tell them I sent ya!
It's a great place to get camera stuff and PRINTS TOO. I almost forgot- i purchased an 8x10 to test our current quality of image. The difference in the matte finish helped the final image, but we were still in great need...
Read moreWorst customer service I've ever experienced in a camera shop. I've come here three times in the last six months. All three times the service was awful. Staff were poorly informed and consistently tried to sell me things I didn't need and wasn't asking for.
When I requested a zoom lens that had been checked out earlier, a cashier tried to push a fixed/prime on me at the same rental price saying it would do the same thing! Another time I asked for a particular tripod they had advertised online and they insisted on attempting to sell me a different tripod at twice the price. I had to interrupt the pitch repeatedly before the clerk gave in and showed me the one I had asked for.
To top it off, during every visit cashiers refused to make eye contact while they fumbled behind the counter for 20 minutes at a time in between customers.
I've had better experiences online than in this store! It's closer to my studio than any other camera shop. Unfortunately, I would drive the extra mile...
