Catering FAIL!
So what do you do when you have a 5 year old daughter whose absolutely favorite food in the world is Turkey Sandwiches, and you are having a huge party on a Sunday?
You call up Goodcents of course! Or so I thought.
So on Friday before the party, I cleared my work calendar and set a reminder to call up around 2:30pm, which I figured would be a dead time.
Before the words were even completely out of my mouth I was told I couldn’t be helped right now because of X and Y and I should should stop in the next day or call during the 2:30pm Husker game or place the order online.
It was a little jarring and disconcerting, but at least she appreciated me right?
Here’s the thing. I love online orders. I’ve been doing online orders with this location since before it was cool. But in the last few years, the attention to detail for online orders has been comically bad.
I used to order a few times a week, but almost every time I would get tomatoes or some other topping I did not order. Wanted wheat bread and get white bread. That kind of thing.
So the frequency of my orders went from once or twice a week, to the once a month when I was available to walk in and babysit my sandwich.
So ordering online, especially for a 5 year old’s party who is already a picky eater, was off the table.
The last straw was when I walked today, the Saturday before the party.
I figured if I went in around 11:15 or so, it wouldn’t be busy and I would be able to wait in line, and get the attention a normal customer would get.
With half a dozen people in line and a bunch of employees running around, it took me a few minutes to get to where it was my turn. I said I wanted a quick catering order and was told to stand over there and someone would help me.
After waiting another few minutes, I was again curtly told to either order online or come in during the football game. Oh, but I was appreciated.
I am not ordering online. I don’t trust you enough to make my own sandwich correctly, so why would I trust you with a catering order for a bunch of kids that are inevitably going to be picky eaters. It would have taken 30 seconds to handle my order. Instead, Mr Goodcents was too busy for me. I am the customer. I wanted to spend a few hundred dollars with you. Why should I have to schedule MY time around yours? Maybe I’m busy during the football game.
But hey Mr Goodcents, I appreciate you.
I appreciated you so hard I drove over to HyVee, dropped $200, and got everything to make my own sandwiches.
I would strongly recommend anybody looking for catering go to Subway or Jersey Mike’s. Or if you are feeling spicy, Pickleman’s downtown. They always seem to be busy, but also actually appreciate me while being able to...
Read moreI usually have a great experience here. The food is fresh and service is quick and friendly. During my most recent visit this week I was charged incorrectly, I ended up paying for my meal and the next guy's sandwich. Unfortunately, the girl at the register did a poor job of handling the situation. No one was upset, except for her! She tried to blame everyone but herself even though she was told by the first employee who started the sandwich what I ordered and I also told her when she was ringing me up. Another employee came to the rescue to correct the mistake and had to tell her to check her attitude. I completely understand that mistakes are made, so I was not upset at all. The only annoying part was her lack of professionalism and courtesy. Kudos to the employee that kept her cool and corrected the mistake. On another note, I used to order deliver on occasion when I could not get away from work. If you order during the lunch hour, you will typically have to wait a while, otherwise it does not take long at all. I did stop ordering delivery because the gentlemen that always delivered wreaked of cigarettes when he would arrive as if he smoked a few on the way over....
Read moreI was very disappointed. I was looking forward to my toasted sub that I ordered online an hour ahead of time. It wasn't ready when I arrived at the designated time, there's little to no indication of where to pick up your order, and when I finally saw it after standing in line, my order wasn't there. I wasted half of my lunch break just getting my sandwich. I rarely leave a "bad" review and I understand they are busy during the lunch hour...but that's why I ordered ahead. Unfortunately, the sandwich was very bland with unseasoned chicken and didn't look like it was made with much care. I paid almost $9 with a tip for an 8" sandwich with no sides or drink and barely ate half. I don't know that I will be back. Hope this review helps to make...
