This was my worst dress shopping experience so far! We drove 50+ miles to get here at 5pm on a Thursday night to look at their wedding dresses. I normally live 5 hours away and I was visiting my parents for the week, so my parents took off work early to make it there on a weeknight. I am getting married in 5 months and was hoping to purchase my wedding dress off the rack, as most orders take 4-6 months. The parking lot was completely empty (not even employee vehicles). Two girls were sitting behind a desk. When we walked in they asked me what brought me in. I told them I came to look for a wedding dress and they asked me to fill out a form. The form was filled with annoying questions asking me to describe how I wanted to feel on my wedding day, how many other stores I have visited, how much the dresses that I liked at the other stores cost, what my "mother" wanted my dress to look like... and so on. I gave the consultant my form and she states that I don't seem to have an appointment scheduled and they have other brides scheduled, so I will not be able to try on any dresses today. Really? No cars and you are open for 3 more hours on a weeknight in mid-November, but you are totally swamped with customers? Why did I even fill out your form if you couldn't help me tonight? Why didn't you tell me that up front? She tells us that we can look around the bridal room to get an idea of what I would like to try on if I were to schedule an appointment for another day. We start looking and the consultant begins asking me questions about my price range and how I want my dress to look... yet I listed all of this on the form in great detail like they asked. I then begin to notice that none of the wedding dresses in the room are even close to my price range and informed the consultant of this. She states that I can use the coupon book that she gave me, which takes some money off depending on how much you spend, but even then it would still not be in my price range... not helpful. We asked to look at the sales rack that she had mentioned and she stated that it is in a back room that only employees can access. She said they would normally (aka if I had an appointment) find out what kind of dress I wanted, then go back and pull any dresses that matched that description from the sales rack to show me. I could not view any of them. The only thing she could tell me was that they are all under a certain price. The consultant asked if I had any pictures of dresses that I liked. I told her no. She said I should bring in pictures next time when I have an appointment, so that they know what I am looking for. I wrote down exactly what I was looking for on the form, but apparently they need me to drive 5 hours back home to get a picture. The consultant did not seem interested in helping us at all. I could not even view any dresses in my price range to see if it was worth making an appointment/another trip to Litchfield. After wasting the gas and time driving to Litchfield, then an extra 20 minutes in the store we left. Still no cars in the parking lot besides our own. We will not be wasting our time or money at this place. The door should say no walk-ins if you are going to be that way. I wasted an entire night that I could have been viewing...
Read moreThe entire experience was a pleasure. My maid of honor and I started dress shopping in February for my September wedding. Needless to say the the big name stores that are here were less then courteous and could care less about my shopping experience all that mattered was that I had a bridal party of 18( if Mothers dresses were included). A grocery store cashier was admiring my engagement ring..and made the normal inquiries. She said that her daughter had purchased her dress from you all and suggested that I too at least have a look see. It was a blustering 30 below zero that Wednesday afternoon... The ladies greeted us with big smiles coffee, tea or cocoa (Kuerig). After i filled out the in take form...my shopoing experience begin. I was still in the selection process while the first five gowns had been taken to a dressing area. The staff assisted me in and out of the gowns and laughed with us as we made light of ill fittings etc. Dress number three...THE DRESS...After being laced up I exited the dressing area and stood before my sister who begin to tear up...and the reaction of the seamstress and another salesperson who had now joined the celebration.. as I took my place in front of the mirror, I remember thinking this moment is priceless. Without even looking at the tag I said I'll take it...and once I saw the price I knew that this was the dress I would begin my happily ever after in. Thank you all sooooo much for showing us hospitality and making my dress buying experience memorable. David's Bridal was too busy with prom to give me any attention...so my bridesmaids were selected on line and alot cheaper then the price in store. The mother's purchased their dresses from boutiques in surroundings areas. David's Bridal needs a lesson in...
Read moreI made two appointments last Saturday for my bridal gown and bridesmaids dresses.
I was so excited when I arrived. Everybody was so nice and Autumn was so helpful. I found my perfect gown within the first 30-45 mins. Then I found a veil I really liked but, I found out that the $200 veil is used. All their accessories are used at the bridal store.
Autumn told me that the veil I was interested in was only used a few times. I didnt believe her and I didn't buy it.
We took a break for lunch and when we came back to the store for our bridesmaid dresses all attitudes from all the workers changed. When I made the appointments I was told they had a large selection of bridesmaid dresses.
We were unable to see them because they were apparently in the back. Autumn brought out one type of dress in my bridesmaids sizes. I asked to see more syles and Autumn handed me their dress catalog. I picked out five gowns to see and she said they dont have any of them. I asked what did they have and she replied none. I was shocked because when I made the appointment they assured me with options. She wanted me to order them from the catalog without me even seeing them in person. No thank you!
Autumn kept pushing me to buy the dress she originally came out with and I told her no and that I was upset because I was lied to.
So, when we were leaving I bought a dress bag for my gown for $15. Autumn carried my dress out and when I got home I notice my bag has a rip on the left side of the zipper. I am very unhappy how their care, attitudes, and understanding changed once I purchased a $800 gown.
I had a backup appointment for that day at another boutique and I am so happy I made it. We found perfect bridesmaid dresses. My formals lost out on another...
