Aldi's in Litchfield is definitely one of the better places to shop locally for groceries. If you're a resident of one of the smaller nearby towns like Staunton, the local grocery stores can be outrageous... Aldi's provides a great alternative. I first started using them while living in St Louis. It was even more affordable there than the Aldi's in Litchfield. This was in part due to the fact that groceries tend to be a little lower in Missouri. Additionally it seems like the "worse" the area the lower grocery prices seem to be.
The majority of the non name brand items are just as good in my opinion. It's sometimes the case that off brands aren't as good as your household names. However I've never had that experience with the items that I personally buy .
While granted they might not have a large selection of some things such as cereals, they make up for it an affordability.
The meat is where I find a lot of my savings. For anyone on a budget, or with a family, you can't go wrong shopping here.
If you happen to be on food stamps and or on a fixed income, they're the best place to stock up on your essentials.
Here's a couple of things that appeal to me because they allow me to fill my ice box and always have something there in case my money gets low and can't afford to do any more shopping
For ten dollars you get a large thing of chicken breasts that I can separate into several freezer bags and use through the month.
The breakfast sandwiches and waffles or pancakes if you prefer are half the price of brands such as Jimmy Dean . So for 30 or so I can fill up the doors on the top part of my refrigerator with convenient breakfast food. It is great for anyone single or with children.
I can spend a couple hundred dollars here every month and live off that whole month if I needed to. If there's more in your household than there is in my household, spending this much money might not get you by all month but it will definitely put a major dent in what you need throughout the month so that's all I need to spend smaller amounts on your food budgeting. On hand if I find myself not buying my initial groceries here I always end up exceeding what I have budgeted monthly...
Read moreI would like to share my recent experience at Aldi, So long story short I stopped by Aldi because our bus ( we were on long tour) ran out of toilet paper. And I had the magnificent idea of going to Aldi to get some of their ultra-soft butt soothing toilet paper. So I walked up to the cash register, and asked the lovely lady if they had any. She went in the back and looked for me. And she came out with what looked like the most beautiful ultra-soft, butt soothing toilet paper. And of course I said thank you. And walked out of that Aldi's like the happiest man in the world. I clutched that roll of toilet paper like it was a bar of Gold. I marched right onto our bus like I was top of the world, and immediately went to our bathroom on the bus just to test this Godly-amazing toilet paper out. I can contest it had to have been THE SOFTEST toilet paper I have ever used. It was indeed angel soft. While I was on that toilet in that crusty musty dusty bathroom, I felt like I was in heaven after I used that amazing heavenly toilet paper. I can't thank Aldi's enough, GO GET YOUR FREE ROLL OF TOILET PAPER AT ALDI'S!!! Yes this heavenly like roll of toilet paper was free from Aldi's. Shout out to Aldi's and they're platonically amazing...
Read moreAfter thinking about finding a new grocery store for produce and fruit, it was by chance my usual 'Super Center' across the street was closed. So I had to give this ALDI'S a chance. From the first step out of my vehicle, I was handed down a free cart. Score! Walking into the store I started my shopping with just what I wanted, veggies. At first glance, Amazing! Each type of vegetable and fruit were clean, healthy and very appealing. Thinking to myself, could this store be my new 'go-to' grocery store for my fruits and veggies?
I was impressed by the selection ALDI'S had, in addition to the quality of their produce. Before writing my review, I wanted to see how the food kept after my trip. Now I wish I would have taken pictures for you to see. In my opinion, if you are looking for great selection, quality produce and a friendly store to shop with; you have to give this ALDI'S store a chance. Your tummys will thank...
