EDIT Upon further inspection and comparison of the couch to the pictures of my swatch samples...MY COUCH IS STILL THE WRONG COLOR!!!!!!!!!!!!
where do I even start.....03/02/20 I made an order for a custom couch. Approx 5 weeks later they call, tell me my couch is in, I'm super excited. It gets here and its the wrong color (I ordered an olive green it came silver) I got a million "I'm sorry"['s] but sorry doesnt fix the problem (it was a factory mess up) They tried to offer another style of couch they had on hand but I believed it to be atrocious/inadequate to my needs/wants so I declined and decided to keep the silver and wait for the one I originally ordered. I was told it would be another 4-6wk wait. So here we are 5/21/20. Today's the day. I told them I needed to be the first delivery (morning anytime). I was told that was no problem and that deliveries start around 10a after they load up at 9:30a. 11:45a rolls around and I've heard nothing!!!! I call Cost Plus, the sales rep tells me she can't get ahold of the driver and doesnt know where he is??!! So I had reschedule the delivery. 5/23/20 My couch comes and its green!!! Delivery guys set it up and then I see it....the legs in the front are at a inward facing angle, causing the couch to feel very unstable on the frame (it wobbled intensly). When I called Cost Plus to inform them of yet another issue, their response is to treat me as a problem client and insist on refunding my money because they can't make me happy. This of course is not what I want at all and I'm immensely offended that I'm being treated as the problem when nothing that has happened has been my fault (This is my first experience buying a couch new). After a long rude conversation with the manager I was told "I hope you don't ever shop here again!!". Guys, I can't tell how dumbfounded I am by their responses to me during all this. They never once offered reparations either. They wound up sending me a tech to check the couch out. He was timely, extremely professional and he didn't treat me like the problem because he instantly saw what the real problem was (ie the couch legs!!!!) He had to bend some things on the legs, cut excess fabric for a more flush setting on the legs, he had to use a washer on one to make it right, he went through and pushed every staple in as they should have been and he had to cut a couple sharp staples that were sticking out of the the backside you lean against. He FIXED EVERY problem and made me happy with the money I invested into the couch I intend keep my whole life. I'm very happy with the TECH'S SERVICE but I will NEVER order from Cost Plus again. Its very unfortunate for me as I have been solely buying all major furniture buys from them in my household for the past 5yrs, even recommended Cost Plus to my neighbor and she bought her bedroom set there. Read moreI am extremely frustrated by this business's poor customer follow up. I have contacted this business on multiple occasions about furniture we ordered in September. At the time we were supposed to receive it on October 18 and James the salesman promised he would contact me if there looked like there were any delays. Considering the current state of furniture these days I was somewhat surprised I would receive it that quickly as other stores told me it would be months but I remained hopeful. Well that day came and went and no call from James. I waited about a week and then called them myself and was told they would contact the warehouse and call me back. Never received a call. So another week goes by and I call again getting the same man. Who said the same thing but this time that he would ask Katie? (the owners daughter) when she returned from vacation. Of course never received a call back. I called again last week and this time I spoke to who I perceived to be said "owners daughter" and she said she would also call the warehouse and would get back to me that same day. What do you think happened? You guessed it, never received a call back. I am beyond frustrated because I am simply requesting information. I understand there may be delays on the furniture as that was what I initially expected. But I would like to know what is going on with it as I have already had to start paying for furniture I do not have. Don't buy from them, they will over promise and under deliver once they have your money. As of now...I'm still waiting. Read moreI said I would go back to this place to get more furniture. At first! But our minds were changed, not due to the error of providing us with the wrong futon mattress (mistakes happen) or the fact the bunkbed became loose within the first week and is squeaky (I am handy and can fix it myself, but what i paid for, but hey).
But because I called in the beginning part of February to inform them that the wrong Futon mattress was delivered (a cheaper one) and I am just getting the one I am actually paying for on Friday, April 28, 2023. It took contacting another store to determine what my options were to finally get the correct item.
I was always kind, friendly, professional, and understanding of whatever situation was given when calling to follow up. At first, the store manager would call me back, as she stated she would. But then she would just not bother. I would like to think it was a situation where they had so many customers, that I kinda slipped through the cracks (not acceptable in business, but understood how it's possible). That wasn't the case! She knew who I was, every time I called and why I was calling, without saying my name, which would have been great.. if the correction was made and more communication and updates were being provided, and if the correct item was delivered in a timely manner.
All in all, thank you, Tonya, for helping rectify the issue, and thanks for delivering the correct mattress. My kids are sleeping a lot more...
