Mercado San Jose Grocery & Panaderia- Bakery — Local services in Little Rock

Today I traveled TWO hours to buy some flu medicine for my mom and 3 of my employees. I was willing to look past the cashier's bad attitude and lack of customer service skills, but at this point, it's worth mentioning. They sell the packets (2 pills) of the medicine I went to buy, but I asked to buy a box instead. She scanned it, and put it in my bag with my other items. I just got home and I was unpleasantly surprised that the box I was sold (for full price, and a 150% mark-up), was not sealed and had half of the product missing. I called to speak to a manager to report it so that I could be reimbursed the difference (because I'm not about to drive 2 hours again), and the girl rudely said "Ay, bye" and nothing else upon my request to speak to a manager. I called three more times, and they immediately hung up after mentioning needing to talk to a manager. I was not rude, I was not angry, but now I am. While we're here; be careful when you purchase from this store. Several of their items on the shelf were past their expiration date and their tortilla packs in the back had mold, which as a microbiologist, is scary to witness because I know how fast spores spread, especially in food items. Contacted originally through Facebook. They were super helpful as I was trying to find an authentic tres leches cake for a 16th birthday. I called to make the order, and I do not speak enough Spanish to get by, but they do(that is how I knew I'd found the correct bakery!) There was one woman who spoke English enough to take my order. My husband, who does speak a little Spanish, picked up the cake. It was beautiful, tasted incredible, and everyone loved it. I know exactly who to call when we need another tres leches cake. If you can order in person, I recommend that for design explanation and such, but I do not have any complaints, personally. My husband also loved the market. The prices are a little high. The 3 milk cake was not good at all it was way too sweet. The design was okay but they wrote happy birthday in black! The customer service was not there, the girl's where very rude and when I expressed my dislike of the cake they didn't even apologize or tried to make me feel better. I will never...
