Just where to begin? If you don't want to do it all yourself including getting the inventory that is just out of reach for you to get to but if you want to just look at something that is on display and need for someone to get it down. You out of luck. Now realize that it is not just at THIS location but also many MANY other locations. I went just recently to the Union City location and after going to the customer service desk 3 times and asking someone twice for help with looking at a particular lawnmower that was on display and being turned down every time with the final straw being the last with the response from the guy who was nearly running away from me to avoid helping me to get to the lawnmower his final response was oh uhhhh yeaaaa..... Uhhhh okay you might want to go check over on isle 40 there MIGHT be someone there who would want to help you but I am REALLY busy... This is the guy sitting in a corner who kept looking down the isles to see if anyone could see him sitting down and occasionally getting up to look around and appear busy. I went over to the service desk and they said that they will get someone there when they get there... Not like I had asked them 3 times in in 3 minutes or something but actually over 20 minute period. I made the comment on the way out that we would be going somewhere where they would appreciate our money being spent. I am appalled at the absolute lack of any will or want from anyone in the retail markets now days and it is absolutely what is fueling the mass exodus to online purchases. At least you don't waste nearly the same amount of time or have to deal with the laziest people I have ever known. This is unfortunate for Home Depot. They have almost always had customer service issues and have just never changed it. If you are okay with that type of service then the selection is nearly on par with other large box construction facilities. Otherwise just...
Read moreIt's a hardware supply store, so what should I expect? Well I guess I have to compare my experience with the local Lowe's hardware supply. Lowe's costs a bit more, and the workers may have a little less experience when it comes to being a handy person. However, when I go to Lowe's they will walk me to the place that I need to go in order to find the thing that I need. Lowe's employees seem to be more considerate at least in my experience. At Home Depot, I feel like I'm annoying a beat-down handyman that really doesn't want to be there. Seems most of them just want to stock the shelves and be left alone. I went in last night to find a simple caulking gun, common sense, I went to where the caulking was located. Did not find the gun so I asked for some help from the guy in hardware. He directed me to the same location that I had already looked so I took it at double to make sure I was not looking in the wrong place. Unfortunately the item was not there. I then went to a second person and told him what had happened and I needed assistance to just point out the item. He told me to go to the paint section while he sent out a Home Depot APB over the paging system. I went back to the same section I was in before, because caulking is in the paint section. I waited 10 minutes. No one showed up. Two people could have walked me to where I needed to go but didn't. I understand they're busy so next time I'll make sure I don't bother them and I'll go somewhere else. That's...
Read moreAbsolutely despicable. All of the people are completely incompetent. We were on the phone for 2 hours while the customer service rerouted us back to the main menu and kept having new people answer "Thanks for calling Home Depot how can I direct your call" at least 30 times. So they then after two hours admitted that they didn't know what they were doing. We came down to the store to which we waited 3 hours for a door that we picked out just to pay for the door. They let people pass us in line because they told us they would call a manager. 3 hours later and no manager, they finally had us pay for the door and we needed to get it delivered. Then we call the day of delivery because it's not here and wait on the phone again for two hours jumping back and forth between people who have no idea how to do anything apparently. Literally all we wanted was one item to be delivered and nobody can figure anything out. One of the ladies even laughed after us waiting 3 hours and her finally listening to us telling her we didn't need to order a door and that we just needed to pay for one they already had in the store. Completely and utterly disappointed and astonished at the stupidity of these people who someone decided should be hired. If you HAVE to come to this store, just get your items on your own and go to self check out because everybody here is incompetent. Just go to Lowe's. Or literally...
