Let me tell you! A master of his craft Amir single handedly saved my wedding dress and my special day! I was made to believe my dress couldn't/wouldn't fit me the way I like or wanted by the store I bought it from.... mind you the dress I found in the store fit how I liked so I was very confused when my "custome" made version of the dress came several sizes to large and hung, they did bring it in but it still hung and was bulky I asked if we could fix this or that and was told no cuz i wouldn't be able to sit or it would crease.... i took my dress and left feeling lost. After a couple weeks it had been eating at me i decided to get a second opinion MAI had amazing reviews and people raving about Amir so I decided to go see him. TALK ABOUT AMAZING!! Amir IMMEDIATELY could see the issues as soon as the dress was on, he pointed out several flaws and lazy tactics the dress store had used to do a quick job on my dress. Amir was able to pull the dress in another SEVERAL sizes he was able to showcase my curves and butt the way I wanted and I didn't have any shapewear on!!! Amir is wonderful, honest, professional and hard working. I forgot to mention I brought him my dress a WEEK before the wedding!! This man made sure it was done and I was happy with time to spare!!! I couldn't be happier with the outcome my fiance "now husband" and our families gushed on how beautiful I looked and how the dress turned out. I know had I not found Amir my day and how confident and beautiful I truly felt wouldn't have happened. I am a plus size 37 year old mother of two and first time bride, Amir helped me feel young and beautiful for a day that was so special and waited for so long. I am getting married in June and needed some alterations done to my wedding dress. I made a appointment over a month in advance with a place in Lafayette. We drove out there to find out the tailor was not in and had just left they claimed my appointment was earlier and I must have written down the wrong time. They never called or anything. When we arrived they had a desk calendar with chicken scratch all over it and could hardly make out my name. I was very upset and left. On the way home I looked online and found M.A. I. Tailoring and figured well its close to home we will give it a try. Amir was able to get me in the next day. Asked me what I was looking for and then gave me his own opinion on things he saw that he would recommend fixing. He broke it down into separate price points and gave me a total as well so I could pick and choose what I wanted to do. The total was less then I expected it to be so I approved everything. A week later I cam back with my grandfathers bath robe that he had left me when he passed. It was about three sizes too big for me but I had faith Amir could make it work. After a few weeks I got a call that the robe was ready I cam by and it was amazing it fit like it was custom made for me but it was still my grandfathers robe that he had left me. This is the robe I will be using on my wedding day to get ready in. Its PERFECT! I got a text the other day saying my dress was ready. We went in yesterday and he had it ready and it was Perfect as well. Amir is a very talented man. And appointments with him will not get mixed up as you get a text confirmation when you book. I don't get alterations too often, and had been going to the same shop for almost 20 years when I had a terrible experience last year (multiple items were damaged and poorly done) so I decided I didn't want to take the risk and go back. After ample searching and reading lots of reviews I decided to try M.A.I. I only had a few items, 'regular ' clothing no suits or work attire or wedding attire.. I felt I had total transparency in his process for each item and the pricing. I felt like he went over in detail each item and explained his process for basically everything. When I asked about altering a specific dress, instead of just saying ya sure and collecting money, he instead told me why certain alterations shouldn't be done. And I really appreciated that. I just picked up my items earlier today and they all fit great. He even went the extra mile and adjusted things beyond what we talked about/what I paid for. AND I was given a 3 week pickup window (I planned for 2 as that was how my old place worked) but the items were ready in about a week! He even had some photos to show me of one of my tops and how he ended up fixing it. Prices were slightly higher than I expected/compared to my old location, but for how timely things were handled, the perk of getting it pinned and then altered by the same individual, plus I know how expensive it is run your own business so overall I will say I plan to come back in the future if/when I need alterations again.
