This place sucks. Shopping here is like drinking from a dirty cup. There's always something leaving a bad taste, there's always something to spit out. It shouldn't be that hard for Kroger to provide a pleasant, trouble-free shopping experience! There's almost always a problem with online orders. There's frequently a problem with in-store purchases. And guess who you have to deal with to get your problem resolved? Yep- that's right, a miserable hag of an employee at the customer service desk with an "I AM the store supervisor" complex. Lol If they're not hanging up on you over the phone, they're being indignant in person. (And getting away with it unless you bring your issues to upper-management.) Report the unruly individuals by name. Report them on the spot, or make a phone call later. But report the issue and the individual. Consider reporting to the Michigan division of the corporate offices in Novi if the managers at the local level are not helpful or you experience more of the same issue after reporting. There is a lot of drama at this location. It's not uncommon to hear someone yelling about gettin' disrespected. If you love chaos and confusion, you'll love this place! If you love getting stared down and treated like dirt, you'll love this place! On the other end, if you love being ignored, you'll love this place. If you love hostility and belligerence, you'll love this place. You'll likely get to experience it first-hand, but if not, look around and you'll likely see an altercation unfolding in close proximity. Check the customer service desk first, parties on both sides of the counter like to get loud. Then perhaps check the parking lot, the lobbies, and don't forget the bottle return area! We see and hear lots of bad behavior in those spots. We've come to hate this store. It's like wading through a cesspool of folly and misery at this location. I've had bouts of explosive diarrhea and stomach cramps more fun, and easier to deal with than some of the wretches at this store. It's not just the employees, some of the other shoppers suck too, but it's no wonder; the store is setting the example! Where is management? What is the standard? Kroger needs to set the example and enforce policy. To be fair, I'm not saying I've never had a good experience here; I have. But it's the exception, not the rule. If you're asking for a warm welcome, competence, friendly faces, helpful employees and a thank-you for your business mentality, you're asking (way, way) too much from this location. There are two stand-out individuals that work in the grocery pickup dept. that seem to like their job! They are always pleasant with a ready smile and kindness! Shout out to individuals like them!! This Kroger needs more of that! There's also the occasional friendly cashier, but again, this is the rare exception, not the rule. I would not recommend spending your money here. If you must, if you have the misfortune of getting stuck having to shop here, pay attention to your surroundings, (while at the same time wearing your blinders!), know how to read your receipt and do basic math lest you get ripped off, and stay calm if/when you need to correct a problem. Stay focused. Get in and get out. It won't be easy with only 1 cashier, but this location is the...
Read moreMy shopping experience at the Kroger store located at 30935 Five Mile Road and Merriman is the worse I’ve ever experienced at any supermarket in the country. The service desk representative “Chaquita” was extremely rude, disrespectful, disgruntled and confrontational Sunday, May 19 at 4:59 pm when I returned to request an over ring correction. She stated false information about digital coupons (which I had clearly clipped and used in the past) alleging that the only way the coupons could be redeemed was by pulling out my phone at the cash register every time even after I had clipped them; falsely accused me of removing my credit card incorrectly; stated that I didn’t highlight all 3 honey crisp apple transactions (although all three are listed together on the receipt she was holding) and was accusatory while snarling through the refunds she administered to my credit card. I was returning after Chaquita refused to make the corrections the preceding Saturday evening at 9:38 pm while she was still behind the customer service desk. She stated that she had to leave and that I “had to” return the following day. As I exited the store, an observing customer overheard the interaction and stated that she avoids encounters with Chaquita at all costs. Chaquita stated to me that her mannerisms are “just my personality” and that she cannot discuss why she is so angry and unhappy with customers. This so-called service representative Chaquita should never be allowed to interact with customers because of her negative attitude and...
Read moreholidyg/= ay is coming up in 2 days. The store is packed! Only half the registers are on and being operated... and several of those are "U scans" There were literally NO carts. I managed to find a tiny cart. I could barely get my items into it. Asked 3 employees if they could help me get a large cart. They all had no clue what to do. I'm in this store for several hours... there was NO STUFFING. NONE. I couldn't believe they didn't stock up on it ...... considering Thanksgiving is only days away. I finally got to check out. I'm in line FOREVER. When i start ringing up stuff and it's bagged... it no longer fit in my tiny cart so an employee had to hunt one down. There were literally 8 people in line behind me.... waiting. I finally am done! I get to my car and realize that my eggs are smashed and i was only given the top half of my receipt. Go back in.... wait in yet another line for ONE INDIVIDUAL handling customer service..... to help me. It took 10 minutes to get the eggs for me. Then about 20 minutes later I was given 5 sheets of paper with copies of my receipt. Hopefully Ibotta will accept this!!
Used to love the store until i realized how little they value the time of their customers. Every register should have been active and given their employees...
